Let's stick with the wedding cake example for a moment. It's not about forcing somebody to make a shitty cake a dozen other people can do as well or having them pay damages for percieved (by lawyers or pissed off grooms) emotional trauma. I would be perfectly fine with it if a judge ordered those kind of businessowners to just hang some Westboro Baptist style posters on their storefront and call it a day. At least then everybody knew with what kind of people they're dealing with.
The problem isn't that people with shitty opinions exist, they'll be always there, the problem is if we let them act as if it's normal and fine and not adress it.
You would crucify them if they'd say that sex with children is ok, you'd call them out if they were telling you black people should be glad their slave ancestors were treated so well. Shit, just try to open a mosque one block away from ground zero and someone will talk to you about that too.
Why is it wrong then if you confront them when they put gay relationships on the same level as people fucking their dogs or tell us that two fathers can't raise a son?
I was serious when I said I admire the Phelps familiy for their honesty. They're horrible, disgusting people but at least they made up their minds and stick to their beliefs. They won't come to us calling homosexuality a "controversial lifestyle" where you can have "differing opinions" than all the "gay friends they have". You fuck a bloke in the ass you go to hell, that's it. No cures, no dicussions. It's antisocial, cruel and stupid but at least, they very least, it's honest.
Those anti discrimination laws are just crude tool to protrect yourself from their stupid hatred. Not everybody lives in San Francisco where you call your transgender girlfriends for a protest sit in at the local homophobic bakery. Some people have only big brother on their side in their hometown.

I never go on my facebook (literally once every month for 15 seconds if that) and I don't go on twitter. The reason why I have a smart phone is for work, the reason why I look at it is either to read and return an email or to read a news article.

I understand this overwhelming need to be connected to people, instead I choose to be antisocial. It has isolated me to the extreme in some cases, which is to bad but I see the positive. Not being beholden to everyone's support or judgement.

American Libertarians aren't traditional libertarians anyways. I mean some people are just Libertarians because they're fucked up Nihilists in this country. They don't like anyone, they don't want to be around anyone, they're just antisocial assholes.

It takes a lot to drive Humanity out of people but it's done a surprisingly good job because we have a lot of young people now who think all Taxation is theft and the Rich Corporations should have all the power in the country.

Free or not, it still doesn't offer what I want, which is a singleplayer campaign, I can't help it, I'm just an antisocial gamer. (actually, if I was really antisocial I'd log on to servers and shoot my teammates in the back with an AC20.)
The article was interesting but I like some of the other commentators I have to wonder if making a singleplayer campaign would really require the kind of investment he's talking about. Now if you're shooting to be the next Halo, Call of Duty, of Assassins Creed then I suppose you might be looking at those kinds of numbers but games have been made on less and were still successful.

I smoked pot twice and disliked it enough that I never made it a habit. Still, I think its insane that anybody should ban its medical use.

I don't believe marijuana is this miracle plant that some claim it to be, but its retarded how demonised it is. Its a drug... big fucking deal. We take drugs ALLLLLL the fucking time. Somehow we put up with antisocial alcohol that is more damaging to our short and long term health, and yet smoking this plant sends you straight to hell. I drugged up twice today too. On caffeine. What is more likely is that she's just a normal person who had a shitty start to her day which put her in a bad mood and exacerbated her stress levels. Psychopath generally applies to people who do not feel guilty about behaving in a violent or antisocial manner, I bet this woman felt guilty as hell afterwards but probably doesn't remember feeling guilty now she's being harassed by phone and email.

I certainly don't agree with her behaviour but I do understand that people do shitty things they regret when under stress or are having a bad day (or week, or month, or in some cases just a bad life).

I saw it and although the movie did a LOT of things right. The fundamental thing it got wrong for me was the main reason why I like the books and the swedish movies. The relationship between Lisbeth and Mikael wasn't treated in the way it should've been, like it was the most important thing. They just worked together and then the sex. There wasn't any "storytelling" to do with the fact that this antisocial girl was letting her guard down and letting Mikael in...it just didn't work and I eventually walked out of the movie something I never ever do.

I really REALLY wanted to like it, and I enjoyed parts of it. But the soul of the story the two main characters anchoring the entire thing felt just wrong to me.
