Aphex Twin - Stone In Focus

Stingray says...

SAWII is one of the greatest ambient albums I have ever heard. I used to listen to it incessantly years ago when I was going through some real rough patches, and while it has a somber sound, it just allowed me to realize that things would eventually get better.

Mercedes Creates An "Invisible" Car

bmacs, I am sure the farther away from the target, the less likely you notice the aspect change. That said, Benze did like, the LEAST AMOUNT of work they possibly could on this.

#1 The LED screen is pretty low resolution, there are tighter nit LED screens out there. IMO they should have hooked up with one of the many R&D departments out there and used a cloth/paper flexable LED tarp.

#2 They only did one side, why not the other? Heck, have a third one for the top screen, it wouldn't be under the car but instead on the pumper to sample the ambient lighted area around it and create a floor pattern to use. The up/down shot would require a bit more work but would be even more impressive.

A little techno to brighten your day

Exactly. Electronica is a bit too broad a term for me. I mean "club music" or producer music. I don't mean synth pop or hip hop. I think Techno is understood by most people to mean something broader than Motown four on the floor or whatever. The only people that get uppity when you use that word are pedantic hipsters that know the 6 other words for that specific sub genre anyway. >> ^rottenseed:

I used to use "electronica" as a catchall and I hated when "techno" was used because techno is specific. However, I've come to realize that hip-hop, indie, alternative and pop are all electronica in many cases. Electronica describes the process (instrumentation) in making the music, not how that music is combined.>> ^bmacs27:

Techno ? this is down-tempo style of electronic.

Meh, I use techno as a catchall. If I'm talking about techno-techno I'll usually call it electro, or what have you. Besides, it's arguably ambient.

Tornados on the sun

One Year old pianist / musical arranger!

This is just annoying , Yes its possible for sum one to compose general music around random notes.
seems like a mastabatory celebration of the protentoise interpretation of what a piano is.

These notes are not that random - it's a complete redub. A lot of the note clusters the eye picks up wouldn't make sense in terms of the audio if any of those were actually notes that the baby was playing. The note velocities and pedal work also don't match. Note there's no ambient noise, nor sound of the baby cooing or laughing.

Also, maybe lighten up: it's only a cute baby video.

I've already taken a look in the vast siftverse for some new tunes and found much non-electronical thanks to you.

Oh and I have edited my last post a bunch of times, I hope you are not too confused by that.

This is also one of my favorites: http://soundcloud.com/epikurmusic/kepos

I'll keep an eye out for them then. I know a few have gone through my playlists.

Tag search gets a few, just not the obvious tag - http://videosift.com/tag/8bit

Just noticed... you're getting rather close to gold these days :

Hey thanks for the link. Though the song didn't exactly hit my taste... hairs? (you know, in the ear) :
I don't like most of the electronica / d'n'b songs with vocals in it. Very often it just doesn't add anything to the experience, IMO. Although this song was quite ambient and "easy listening".

But I'm always looking for a good electronical tune (no matter what subgenre), preferably with all kinds of influences. I would open a big bucket of power points for somebody who can give me a really good electronica - klezmer sound.

Do you like electronica, and particularly d'n'b?

This one's on 9 and I quite liked it:

Perhaps not quite as much as the violin one that you found in Beggar's canyon, but 1000 times more than the death metal one :
