5 ways to know you are watching a Spielberg Movie
Modern Era being say, last thirty-forty years but not the last fifty to seventy though. He's as fantastic a composer for the formulaic music he creates-I agree he ranks among the greats of cinematic composition but his claim to fame being so ingrained in pop culture with Star Wars for me means he kinna squeaked-into the realm of 20th century American composers like Copeland. Bernstein, or Gershwin. I dunno, he's more like a Howard Shore or Hans Zimmer for me, not quite reaching the all-star team of 20th century long-haired first-stringers.
Maybe I'm simply prejudiced against the all-consuming cheese-fog of Star Wars, Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, etc. Maybe I'll try the experiment of listening to one of his compositions without the backdrop of a film. No wait, see I did that-In 77' I bought the double LP of the Star Wars soundtrack (yahhh, I was frikkin' 12) and got bored with it-Never get bored listening to Grofé's Grand Canyon Suite or Ravel's Bolero, though!
John Williams is a fantastic composer.
Some people might call this heresy, but personally I think he should be ranked up there with Beethoven and Tchaikovsky for grandiose orchestral music.
He's certainly the greatest composer of the modern era.
Star Citizen Extended Trailer
I think Disney owns the IP, but for now they're outsourcing development of all Star Wars games to EA.
Another X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter is too much to hope for. But DICE could do a great Battlefield style game in the setting. Throw in a few maps that are mostly space battles and that could turn out well.

Lucasarts doesn't exist any more. Electronic fucking Arse holds the IP.

DAMN, you got played - Ice Hockey Penalty Shot
Perhaps, but this particular "bad goalie" played a few games for the Caps a few years back, and has a .936 save percentage and 1.75 GAA in the KHL this year (presumably playing against a fair number of pretty high-caliber NHL refugees), hence his playing in the all-star game there.
I doubt anyone would try that sort of move in an actual, competitive game situation, but then again I've seen some pretty wild things in the new NHL shootouts.
This is what you get with bad goalies...
DAMN, you got played - Ice Hockey Penalty Shot
That was beautiful! I see the KHL branding and East vs West, so I assume it was from an All Star game or something there? (Confirmed via Google, answered my own question)
Gary Bettman and the NHLPA take months to settle a labor dispute for an expiring CBA that has been on the horizon for years, and in the meantime stuff like this is happening in the KHL. Yeah NHL, who's bush league now? I love ya, but this is why you'll never crawl out of last place in the North American "big four" sports race.

Some truly amazing comics that have come out during these death throes:
I Kill Giants
Action Philosophers!
Mouse Guard
Crécy
Pride of Baghdad
Power Girl
All-Star Superman
Incredible Hercules
and, yeah, many webcomics.
CG Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers)
That reminds me of Mimi's complaint that the unicorn was humping the dolphin in an anatomically impossible way.

But not Twilight, right? Right?

>> ^ant:
I love both scifi series!
How is Twilight a scifi?
It's as much scifi as Star Wars was, i.e. not at all. Star Trek barely qualifies as soft scifi, but Star Wars is pure and simple (minded) space opera, in the vein of Doc Smith and Flash Gordon.
But I'm sure we can all agree that Twilight is...well, yucky.
