Tigers Prey on People
I'm not too keen on recognizing it and I'm too lazy to go check right now, but wasn't that the Wilhelm Scream I just heard?
Tigers are awesome.
Star Wars according to someone who has never seen Star Wars
makes great use of the Wilhelm Scream. Hilarious
Who's the Tank
Wilhelm scream ftw. And that whole Abbot and Costello thing was good too I suppose.
What if Obi-Wan had used Force Speed? (19 sec)

needed an "Ahhh!" sound as Obi fell
Seriously... a Wilhelm Scream would have worked just fine.
"Yeah, I'll just fill my pipe... AHHHH!"

Now that makes me curious. What exactly is a Wilhelm Scream?

History of the Wilhelm Scream
I have a decent candidate to replace the Wilhelm scream.
Repeated use of "the Wilhelm scream" over the years in movies
Ugh. I guess I'll be the only dissenting view here. As a certified movie nut, I can't stand the Wilhelm scream. Because it is in everything. But, I also watch more movies than the average person, so I would notice it more often. As you know, familiarity breeds contempt.
There's also a female "Wilhelm" that is very overdone as well. I first heard it years ago on a sound-effects-for-video-production CD (which I still have somewhere) and I've heard it used in at least 25-35 separate movies/tv shows/video games/etc. But nowhere near as bad as the Wilhelm, as evidenced by the above clip.
Oh well.
History of the Wilhelm Scream
I detest the Wilhelm scream. I detest it because it jars me out of whatever movie I'm watching, whatever escapism, and reminds me it's just a silly movie.
I also dislike the arrogance of them to say that it's something that no-one noticed unless they were in the business. I, and many others, do notice these things you know, they detract from the films. Grrr.
I upvote this for the historical notes, and the original recording, fascinating.
Oh, and just to mention, my MOST HATED sound in sound design is the kii-woosh sound that I mention in this other sift. It's used ALL THE DAMN time, and I hate, hate, hate it.
The REAL Sarah Palin!
Didn't think this was very good, then I heard the Wilhelm scream and had to upvote.
Star Wars Episode VI: Revenge of The Jedi
A very nice Wilhelm scream in here..
Least Manly Scream Ever
^Agreed. Tired of the Wilhelm scream. As well as the "female Wilhelm" that's been overused too.
Japanese Comedian, breaks his neck. Cohosts have no idea.
i feel the dissent to this unoffiacial siftquisition, coming from some of the members (me included), is based on the impression of overall drop in the quality of videos that appear on the front page. you might argue that one's shit is gold to you and vice versa... and you'd be right, of course. but the point is some of us believe the sift changed it's course for the worse. i'm not gonna pretend i know the answer on what went wrong cause i don't. but whenever i go exploring the sift archives, posts from a year back or so, i feel we're failing somewhere. please, prove me wrong.
btw, choggie - if this was a trial, you'd probably get off on a technicality since the rules are not explicit in this case. i like the idea (gwiz665) of having a second opinion before discarding someone's video. maybe we should start * discussing more. shouldn't be such a bother since i see this boring and tasteless piece of video history already got 90 comments (and over 1600 views so far). meanwhile, some quality posts are dying of loneliness in our pq's...
Death Proof Crash Scene
I don't remember hearing the Wilhelm scream when I watched this movie.
