Quite a few Spanish pop songs have crazy view counts. It is often claimed that there are over 500 million Spanish speakers (including 50 million in the USA), and some of the youtube vids have view counts that suggest that every Spanish speaker in the world has watched it at least once, and maybe two or three times!

For example, Shakira's song Chantaje (blackmail) has 1.5 billion views and Daddy Yankee's older song Limbo has 700 million views.

I came across Despacito not long after its release (it went straight to the top of the Latin charts) but I was as surprised as you are that it crossed over to the English charts!

The "oversexualized" look is now THE way to dress for little girls if they want to look like their idols Beyonce, Shakira, C.Aguilera, Mrs. Spears and that dame Fergie. Watch mtv for a couple hours and you'll see. This trend has slowly expanded to mid-aged women, making it a new standard, accepted style. Men should get used to it and not take it literally. Usually, women who dress like this don't want to tease you more, but only to look younger.

Hard to go wrong with Shakira, she's a treat for the ears -and- the eyes. I do generally prefer her non-English versions though.

I've hated auto-tune since the first time I heard it. It has pretty much ruined American Pop over the last decade for me. Worst is when a really talented singer like Shakira jumps on the auto-tune bandwagon, making her entire "She Wolf" album into dog shit.

Taylor was awesome as shakira, but I loved the Jennifer Hudson at the end the best
