I also have trouble with the new 3D, but I intend to give SW a chance. I hope I don't have to see it a second time in 2D to actually see it. I live in N Cal., and we barely have 3D theaters here, but plenty of smaller 2D screens.
If only they would make a good quality, 4K, 3D projector at a reasonable price, I would just stay home. People in theaters suck. It's like their parents never taught them that a theater is not their living room. That's why I only see an average of 1 movie a year in theaters. I would see far more if it weren't for the other movie goers.
Have fun! I will pass on the new SW movie. There is actually no effin 2D cinema left in my region and my brain and/or glasses/weak eyes are incompatible with this horrible 3D bullshit.

My mind cannot process a simultaneous excitement for Star Wars and Star Trek. I will get back to Star Trek after Dec. 18th, thank you.

ChaosEngineI was a massive SW fan. I was one of the last people to admit that the prequels were terrible. I kept lying to myself that they were good.
Also, I am on record as hating JJ Abhrams... especially the 2 new Star Treks. So I wasn't happy at all when he got this gig.
So I kinda want to hate this. I've been disappointed before, and I want to get my scorn in early.
But I just can't.
THAT TRAILER IS GODDAMN AWESOME.
And when Han and Chewie appeared, I nearly shed a tear. I really hope the movie is *quality.

antYes. Try GOG, these SW computer games are old. I think there are (add/mod(ification))s to improve them if you want to get fancy. FYI, I never got into WC series.
Nope. I have been a big Star Wars fan since I was a young kid (not quite old enough to have seen ANH or ESB in theaters, but I did see RotJ on the big screen, plus of course watching them all on TV many many times growing up) but somehow I missed out on those games.
Quick google shows Wing Commander 1 as 1990, Wing Commander 3 at 1994, TIE Fighter also in 1994, and X-Wing Alliance in 1999. I played those Wing Commander games (and others), and played a lot of Star Wars games during that span, including stuff like Shadows of the Empire and Rogue Squadron for N64. But somehow the X-Wing and TIE Fighter stuff stayed off my radar at the time.
Should I check GOG?

Looks cool. Not impressed that the Falcon would fly so low to the surface. X-Wing fighters, tho... that's another story.

Star Wars Battlefront : Official Trailer
HugeJerk says...The SW:Battlefront games were never terribly good, so it's likely to see an improvement with DICE creating it. I've just had a lot of annoyance with the bugs in Battlefield games, from the Friend/Foe mis-coloring of names and server filters not working in BF2, to the "How did it ship like this?" netcode in BF4. They have been slow to fix things, and when they do, they often end up introducing several more less-serious bugs.
That's exactly why I'm looking forward to it. Battlefront was always a Battlefield clone, and I don't think anyone has ever done the genera better than DICE.
It could be buggy, but if they have massive 64 player combined arms battles in the rebellion timeline, I might not care.
