^you're right, "nonplussed" means 'confused'. I totally blew that one. Learn something every day. That's twice I've been wrong on the internet now.

Well that's it then, your reputation is in tatters. My only question is, how will you ever be able to face yourself from now on?

Riot Control Training - The Molatov Cocktail (0:33)

You would think riot police would be training how not to get hit in the head with Molotov cocktails...

If you need training on how to duck when a hard object is thrown at your head; one that's on fire, no less; then you should probably find yourself a nice desk job somewhere.

What's That? I'm On Fire?

The Chemical Weapons Convention of 1997 states "Each State Party undertakes not to use riot control agents as a method of warfare", but does allow "law enforcement including domestic riot control."

CS and OC gas/spray are classified as RCAs in the CWC. While they are not in the same ballpark as Serin, it's still illegal. Of course I suppose you could claim a loophole while working riot control "under the direction" of the local government in Iraq, that not technically being a use in "war".

Hey America! THIS is how you Protest!

And now that I've watched more of it, that is absolutely the worst riot control squad EVER.
You don't break formation, you don't use your shied as a weapon (where are their batons) and you certainly don't just run off and leave a gap in the line. Riot control is very much akin to the techniques of the Spartan soldiers. Not that 300 Bullshit, but the real kind.
And yes, I've had full training in riot control.

CNN Interview: Handcuffed & Tazered Drunk Woman in Ohio

Whoa whoa whoa... I never said it didn't hurt! I whined like a little girl!
However, my entire unit (approx 135 Marines) went through it as part of training for riot control, and none mentioned injuries like she claimed. Also, the pain stops as soon as the tasing does. They would all attest to that.
Though this particular article isn't the end-all be-all, it is written for people who feel victimized by tasers. No where in it does it mention any sort of swelling of the brain or visual impairment.
Again, I'm not saying she deserved it, nor am I defending the LEO. Yeah, she deserves compensation but I think she's milking it.
Also, yes it is 50,000v, but only 1.33 watts, not 20.

kid gets knocked out by a 7 pound dildo

rickegee says...

I think I am more worried/alarmed about these children than the "coolest 8 yr old" that has O'Reilly's knickers in a bunch. Where did this kid get a hold of that piece of action?

But viewing the lethal force, I believe that Bush/Blair should be thinking about training the Iraqi forces about the riot-controlling uses of the 4 foot dildo.

UCLA student tasered by campus police

AttackDoggs says...

Gross abuse of power, absolutely misuse of power. I live in Boston, and I saw plenty of fights, and rioting controled without the use of Tasers when the Red Sox won the world series (I really don't want to hear any hits on the red sox). I watched as two officers broke up a fight without the use of a single "weapon". Once the group was seperated the police officers used a verbal aresanal to get the crowd to disperse. Sure, they used the threat of the taser, but never once used it. It seems hard to believe that campus police couldn't find another way to handle an individual who wouldn't show his identification or leave the premises. I hate to say this, but it seems like those campus cops got off on showing what bad asses they could be. It's very similar to a technique SS officers used to keep work crews in line in WWII. They would take the offender, or disruptor, and shoot him/her in front of the entire work crew. Fear is the best deterant. I know that analogy is very extreme, but it's kinda what happened here. I'm sorry, but I've been told by state police that if a police officer is ever asked for his badge number and information, he is required to give it.
