Exactly right. It would never occur to me - not even if I knew there was an airport nearby - that a stop sign on the road would mean I was crossing a flight path. If there was a situation where I'd be driving across the flight path of landing aircraft I would fully expect more information. You get a warning sign a railway crossings, even though these are reasonably common and people know what they are. This road isn't crossing the runway, it's just close to one end. To a driver it looks just like a piece of road, nothing special about it at all. I'm fairly tall and drive a small car, so I wouldn't be able to see the plane without leaning right down to see the sky out of the far window of the car. It's not like driving out into traffic that you could be reasonably expected to know was there. Why are the people at the airport being so stupid about this?

In this case it means a crash. It usually means push, or move aside, as in moving railway trucks around and the medical and electrical terms derive from this usage, i.e. moving stuff around.

Where I live there is a 9ft 6in clearance under a railway line bridge. The warning signs, the sensors, flashing lights etc. still do not stop drivers colliding with it. It gets hit about once a week and the local police have stopped treating it as an accident, it is now a careless driving charge. Every time the bridge is hit the rail company shut the line. It causes chaos. High vehicles use a 'level crossing' to cross the tracks and they they regularly drive through the barriers. Once again, the line gets closed. Ummm... maybe it is because the proximate causes of a riot are based on economic and societal conditions and not prevented by a 2000 year old book. Also worth noting in the list is included Bloody Sunday, which, if I remember correctly, was part of a conflict based on rival gangs within your beloved Christianity kicking the shit out of each other.

The speeder was moving at idle speed and had already made three trips through the weeds that morning before the video was shot.
