I've had pure frozen fruit ice cream - it does come out really well. My favorite was one that I got in a market in Northern Queensland, made from a frozen "chocolate pudding fruit" also called a black sapote. It really did taste like chocolate ice cream.

What Australia does to rascists

I don't know that we pretend it's not there. I'll say this, though - I was studying politics in the late 90s when there were a handful of her party members (One Nation) in the Queensland Parliament. We went on a field trip to the Parliament, and these people sat by themselves, acknowledged by no one else. Every other member of parliament pretended they weren't there. They were complete outcasts, thoroughly ignored by every major party. It was fascinating. Apparently it wasn't just in the sitting house either. Even in the corridors, in the street, at functions - the major parties just pretended they didn't exist. And then, eventually, they didn't exist.

Female Wolf Spider With Babies

There's nothing quite as scary as actually seeing something big and dark out of the corner of your eye and then finding out one of them is crawling around on the wall, or under your desk. I live in Queensland, Aus, and we see big wolf spiders like these fairly often, they come in the house if you don't have fine mesh on all the windows.

why would he be offended? I don't get it

He's offended as a post-racial American. Australia is actually behind many parts of the US in racial attitudes. I've heard some awful things up here in Queensland that are often just chuckled at.

Actually was not that crowded at the Indooroopilly cineplex here in Queensland. So I'd recommend that one.

Queensland? You live in San Francisco?

I'll see the movie just for Simon Pegg...

I think we'll find this is from the recent Queensland storms, as he does indeed seem pretty Aussie to me, he says Crikey at one point.
So downunder

They also seem to drive on the left side of the road, so I think you're right.

A Flood collapses road in a few minutes

Asmo says...

Seeing the initial suction that underway was generating, it's easy to understand why so many people drown in floods. Over here in North Queensland, we have large stormwater run offs for cyclone season, and more than a few people who go "play" in the run off end up dead because they misjudge the force of water...

Cool to watch, but it would suck to be in it...

Upvote for beauty. I love how strawbale homes have deep windowsills and gorgeous wall recesses. The house becomes a work of art. We can't decide whether to build with strawbale or rammed earth. Extremely hot and humid weather is a big factor here in Queensland.

Can you build a house with straw?
