Accidently posted in my own profile by quoting myself. Duh.

Keep in mind that Spock was half human. Otherwise he would have just been cold AI. Only dead people are cold.

Somewhere, out there, are a group of kids in a garage learning and practicing to use the weapons they chose to fight with. They are honing their skills and putting every effort into being marksmen.

Their weapons of choice have been proven to be highly efficient and affective in a clandestine way. Not by design but by happenstance.

Their dream is to be the next big hit rock band.

What did you dream?
It's alright we told you what to dream -Pink Floyd

But to make it to the top their words and crafted notes must penetrate the heart where they will be stored and remembered when the time comes. The message:

Seems I'm not alone at being alone
A hundred billion castaways
Looking for a home -Sting

The people who are violated by those that hate are sent to a place that is very hard to reach. They only hope someone will hear them. Outside the wall.

You can hear them in music.

Isn't this where -Pink Floyd

This is where you come in. Don't forget your mighty pen. Your dream is at stake.

Pink Floyd - On The Turning Away

A Hard Question For Religion

BSR says...

When you realize you have been sent to hell because you have loved and been loved, the only way to heaven is to continue to love with the knowledge that you will be sending the people you love to hell also. You must go through hell to get to heaven. You are born again when you realize you've been in heaven all along and never realized it.

"So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?" -Wish you were here. Pink Floyd

You are God. You are Satan. Enjoy the dance.

THE test? Hardly. That's not even the only test for your small sect.
If you've been saved, "born again" then sin again, or question dogma or your own belief, you have to do it all over again....according to your particular group's belief...right? It's not a one and done thing, it's a constant subjugation and supplication, incessant adoration by the congregation, suffering degradation without protestation.

What happens when one side has been saved and doesn't change but the other side no longer believes after surgery?

Sexual Assault of Men Played for Laughs

BSR says...

It sounds to me as though you're on a mission to point out the evil taking place in children's movies that encourage bad things, such as torture as a tool. It also sounds as though you are ready to set aside some of your valuable time to bring attention to this "problem."

I'm not aware that you have ever attacked any sifters and it never crossed my mind.

What would you say if I told you Pixar knows EXACTLY what they are doing, why they are doing it and how they are succeeding, with or without your help? Your doubt about what they are doing is sending you down an unending, fruitless road costing you valuable time that you should be spending with your children. Not to mention the cost at the ticket window.

All the answers to your fears are already built into the same movie(s) you point out. If you look for evil you will create it and find it. Drop your cynicism and look for the good.

When you find the good you will be able teach your children how to get along in this world just by your example. Make your valuable time worth it.

I truly believe you are straightforward, honest, and as factual as you can be. Find the good and you will have unlimited power on your side. Yes, even the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion.

All alone, or in two's
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands
The bleeding hearts and the artists
Make their stand
And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall -Pink Floyd

I suppose that depends on the definition of demonizing and on my intent. As I said, it's not just an indictment of Pixar but children's film's more broadly. Its limited in scope because of the forum.

I'm not sure how to respond to your second comment about what I fear. That seems like some sort of red herring and I haven't attacked any sifters. I don't feel like the commentary on Pixar film's is an attack either, I doubt they realize what they're doing beyond adding what they think will be a salacious plot point to a movie.

I suppose I fear being surrounded by dumb internet trolls, but hey, all I can do is be straightforward, honest, and as factual as I can be.

Beyond The Crash - The Worst News Of Your Life

BSR says...

About 2 years ago I was in NJ to help take care of Dad who was in his final days. While there I was able to help my brother who has his own funeral home. He also had a contract doing body removals for the medical examiner.

Got a call about 2 am for a fatal wreck on Interstate 80 which involved a single vehicle with 3 females. When we got to the scene investigators were just finishing up and we were ready to remove the bodies.

The vehicle was estimated to be traveling 70 to 80 mph when it left the Interstate and went into the median and slammed straight on into a tree impacting on the passenger side.

The driver was airlifted to the hospital. We had to remove the front passenger and rear passenger side body.

The front passenger side dash of the car was pushed up to the front seat. The passenger in the back seat was probably 250+ lbs. and apparently wasn't wearing a seatbelt. She was thrown forward and broke the front seat from the floor thus impacting the front passenger from behind.

At this point the scene was about 3 hours old. As we were removing the last body we heard one of the girls cell phone start to ring. It kept ringing off and on until we left 20 minutes later.

The police told us they found a sonogram picture in the wallet belonging to one of the girls. It was 3 weeks old.

When we arrived at the M.E. which is at the same hospital the driver was flown to, they were just bringing the driver to the morgue also. All 4 were back together.

When that phone rang that night all I could do is think that whoever it was, they only had a few more minutes of peace left before their life would be changed forever.

The heaven they were living in was about to turn into hell.

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell -Pink Floyd

What did you dream?
It's alright we told you what to dream" -Pink Floyd

The gates to heaven are not pearly. "...you got to go through hell
before you get to heaven" -Steve Miller Band

They will discover they are "not alone in being alone." -The Police

"Let the music be your master." -Led Zeppelin

I'd guess contenders for best sax solo in a pop/rock song Though I wouldn't put the Benny Hill theme in the same list, but would put on Tim Cappello - I Still Believe... Jungleland and lots of others by Bruce Springsteen... Pink Floyd's Us and Them...

Careless Whisper's sax solo, if Wikipedia is to be believed, was Steve Gregory, who's sax didn't have the key range, so they messed with the recording a bit, and when George came in, he liked it... Actually seems like that was the part of the song they had the hardest part with as George didn't like most takes from most people.

How Much Fuel Needed to Idle or Turn OFF / ON

BSR says...

Back in mid 80's I had a '66 Dodge Coronet. I got to work one cold and snowy day just a little early.

I sat in my car with the engine idling while listening to Pink Floyd on the 8-Track.

I went into work and forgot to turn the engine off. 8 hours later I was the only one whose car wasn't covered in snow.

It used just about a half tank of gas in 8 hours.

That's the price I paid to climb into a warm car.

Pink Floyd - Learning To Fly

Sagemind says...

Because we are voting on good or bad videos and content - I'm personally going to down-vote this on the basis that it ads nothing to the music at all, and is just a blatant film-reel promoting this model.
This video is here primarily to promote the model.
as are all of the videos from the YT creator.

Also, I'm guessing the music is poached without license.
So it's not associated with Pink Floyd themselves.

Pink Floyd Clare Torry "The Great Gig in the Sky" interview

Pink Floyd talks about Clare's singing on the song at the 25 min mark.

Pink Floyd Clare Torry "The Great Gig in the Sky" interview

ChaosEngine says...

She had such an amazing voice.

This doesn't tell the whole story though. In 2004, she sued Pink Floyd and EMI for songwriting royalties. Given that she was originally paid 30 pounds, I think it's fair to say that she deserved a cut of the squillions of dollars they made of this. They eventually settled out of court for an undisclosed sum, but I hope it was at least 6 figures, because god damn, she NAILED it.
