Tesla China - Shanghai Gigafactory production line

wtfcaniuse says...

@bobknight33 So how'd that battery day go? Did you notice Musk's tweet?

"We intend to increase, not reduce battery cell purchases from Panasonic, LG & CATL (possibly other partners too)."

Funny how they're buying cells from some of those companies I mentioned despite being 5years ahead of anyone else huh?

You're assuming the people calling you out on your BS are liberals. That is one of your mistakes.

I was trying to be nice. I actually appreciate you contributing something for once.

Tesla is not leading the EV market today and they will not be leading it in ten years. The biggest EV market is China and Tesla makes up maybe 1/5th. China and India are the biggest emerging EV markets and both have locally developed EVs.

Telsa is not 5 years ahead of Panasonic, LG, BYD, et al. The breakthroughs are coming from labs you've never heard of.

Don't put all your stocks in the one EV basket. As Stukafox mentioned Hydrogen is the future. Current EV's are a stopgap.

Well replying to a Liberal is like beating you head against the wall. Since I am so out numbered here,I don't even try.

Ultra HD 4K Porn - Kiera Winters Teaser

spawnflagger says...

Actually the term "4K" seems to have stuck with all the marketing folks. I've seen about 5-6 different models (Sony, LG) of 4K TV in different stores, and not 1 was labeled as "2160p" or marketed as "UHDTV". We'll see what Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp, etc labels theirs as, but I'm going to guess "4K".

It can mean 3840x2160 or 4096x2160 (and apparently others)

braschlosan said:

BTW, 4K for TV is 2160p. Thats 3840x2160 or 8.3 megapixels. Four times more pixels than 1920x1080 which comes out to 2.1 megapixels. Devices with 4k res will usually be labeled as Ultra high definition television or UHDTV

iPhone outsourced factory (Foxconn) struggles with suicides

notarobot says...

If you're going to out one company for being in business with Foxconn, why not out them all? Own a game console? Your Xbox, PS3, and Wii were all made here. Like to read? This is where your Kindle came from.

Foxconn isn't just producing ithings and iphones, they assemble 40% of the world's electronics. Here's a list of SOME of Foxconn's clients (from wikipedia):

Parents Indoctrinate Children Through Song

Mauru says...

*cringe* whatever campaign advisor/think-tank came up with that deserves a swift kick in the nuts.

snippets from the press release:

[...] "by ideas raised at a grassroots Obama fundraiser" [...] "Parents and older siblings designed and provided the T-Shirts and the banner" [...]

"As Sunday approached, a neighbor volunteered a home. Production wizards got wind of the project and offered their help in recording it. The likes of Jeff Zucker, Holly Schiffer, Peter Rosenfeld, Darin Moran, Jean Martin, Andy Blumenthal, and Nick Phoenix rearranged schedules to participate. Holly Schiffer was able to get three High Definition cameras (Panasonic HVX250's), and an AVID editing facility. When Jeff Zucker went to pick up the camera package, Ted Schilowitz happened to be there and offered a RED camera set up on a Steadi Cam."

... yeah right ;-) Gotta hand it to the republicans- they have got a head-start at camouflaging their campaign efforts - FOX news and the brainwash crowd would be fools not to pick up on that theme.

Stunning HD footage of French Air Force jet fighters

krazyety says...

Trully stunning indeed. I assume this is a one off video, and not part of a DVD or something. Wish it was as I want more and want to see this in full 1080p on my Panasonic Plasma.

Thanks for sharing.

Edit - Oh wait it is from a DVD. Gonna try and find a copy somewhere.

Honor Among Thieves (Blog Entry by Sarzy)

Sarzy says...

We shot it with the Panasonic AG-HVX200. I've seen stuff shot with that camera that looked way better, and way more film-like, but we were constantly in a rush and never really had time to properly set stuff up. Which is probably just a convenient excuse. It's true though!

And yeah, the steadicam shot did turn out pretty nice (and that's actually one of the only things I actually paid for, outside of food and various little things like props). I've always been a really big fan of long steadicam shots, so if this really is my last film I'm glad I got to do that.

As for the length -- it definitely is way too long. I probably should have let someone else have a crack at it. The original cut was 37 minutes though, so I did manage to cut some stuff out.

Anyway, thanks for the comments. When do we get to see your film?

No. I worked in the commercial video industry, mostly doing mundane corporate videos but I used all that time to play around with HD cameras, learn Sony Vegas and NLEs in the professional setting until I got sick of working slave work hours for slave wages and went into IT field.

In reply to this comment by dystopianfuturetoday:
Do you work in the entertainment industry also?

In reply to this comment by Farhad2000:
Which one is you?

PS: I used the same Panasonic camera in my last job and it is really good. Very impressive color reproduction once you set the white balance up right.
