Once again I am in awe as to how brain-dead the MPAA agenda-pushers and legislators must be. The status-quo is beyond ridiculous.

Ya, hoping for a reform in the land of IP for the arts isn't unfounded now that most of the people from the RIAA and MPAA are part of this administration. His wager to place his optimism in science and not the arts is a credit to his insight and intelligence

Color me impressed. I have been boycotting the MPAA studios for half a decade. Looks like the new Trek is going to make it difficult for me.

I don't believe intellectual property law is compatible with liberty, so I am against the RIAA, MPAA, patents, copyrights, etc.

I use this mostly, but google is a good freind since MPAA, and RIAA and the suits got crazy mad and started making people take down tabs and chords that writers wrote by breaking the song down by ear and rewriting it in a simple musical form.

I say I burn down MPAA headquarters.

that's just scare tactics from MPAA and suchlike, putting the pressure on video portals to see if they can squeeze any money out of this. won't work, though. i don't see how they could possibly make a valid argument in court

Due to a puppet sex-scene, the movie was given a NC-17 Rating by the MPAA.

The scene was edited twelve times before they received the R rating they were shooting for. Trey Parker later admitted that the scene was originally added to distract the MPAA from the rest of the film's subject matter. On Matt Stone's urging, the scene was reinstated to the "unrated" DVD.

mind you even in this drm riaa mpaa world we live in it still seems strange that a studio would prefer people not watch a preview to an upcoming movie.
