I think it's one of those films you gamble on. I may work or it may not. I think they all really wanted to make something different but somehow the pieces didn't fall together, which is why we've never heard of it. Why they would pick Oldman for that part is beyond me. That may have been the casting mistake that cost them the movie.

There are so many great little people actors that should have gotten this role. I think it all part of the arrogance of Hollywood that they felt an important little person role could be given to a "biggie." A bit of insult really.

I told the professor I would like to write a paper comparing education to religion. He was remarkably unimpressed.

While there are many similarities, there are big differences. Science is founded on experiment, whereas religion is based on belief. Belief and experiment are fundamentally different.

I can believe something, and my belief is not necessarily the same as another persons. That is not true for experiment. If I do an experiment measuring the half life of carbon, and Volumptuos made the same experiment, then our results better agree. And if not we have to come up with a testable reason why they are different.

Here is the crux of my point. People have done experiments that show the globe is warming on average within the confines of their measurements. If you are going to say that these experiments are wrong, then to do so you would need to actually do an experiment that confirmed your statement. Otherwise you are just wasting my time.

I just developed a fear of little people.

I've been talking to a number of people I know about the current financial situation in the US and it is absolutely astonishing how LITTLE people actually know about the current state of the system and how it originally got that way. There really needs to be a mass public education campaign to educate people more thoroughly. I have been so stressed lately thinking about this shit, I am truly worried for our current generation and future generations, we are leaving a destroyed economy & ecosystem for future generations to deal with. I am really starting to think the WAY RIGHT WING christians are trying to make the world as bad as possible so that they're delusions of christ returning will come true. But you know what, in the same right I'm also glad the world as a whole is hitting rock bottom, being a recovering drug addict that has been clean for 2yrs. I most certainly know that people never change until they have hit they're lowest low. So hopefully if we do come close to destroying the world, maybe we'll have learned some valuable lessons from it.

Heres how the money comes down to the little people.

The credit market is liquid, it flows like a river, and it moves and is generated by currency trade.

Two days ago, the paper market stopped trading.

Period.

Right now the banks are going over their books, re-evaluating their loans and capital to ensure they have enough receivables to cover their operating costs.
Most are saying that they dont have the cash, and its because their loans are being valued at 3 cents on the dollar, they have lost a TON of cash, and they cant operate.

When banks cant trade paper, and wall-street cant trade currency, the credit market stops.

The world runs on credit. When that stops, your boss wont even be able to get a loan to pay you your PAYCHECK, let alone keep the business running.

The economy is on the precipice of a total collapse, something that we have never seen before, ever. It will be the complete loss of the US$ as a currency.

This bailout, as unethical as it seems, is necesarry to keep markets that are still alive, living and moving, to get the credit flowing again.

If we can keep enough companies alive for long enough, the $700bn will repay itself in productivity and interest, but it has to get moving, no economy in the history of printed / stamped currency has EVER stopped before, and the US economy is about to.

This is how serious an issue it is, I dont think many understand that.

Here you have McCain coming in and holding it to ransom to push through more of the same that got us in this mess in the first place, all to try and score some more points in the polls and avoid having to debate obama.

Its a disgrace, an utter disgrace that he is doing this.


Heres why Im not outraged about this bailout plan.

Letting companies crash in a market where they have screwed up, works in every situation, EXCEPT ONE.
And thats when the market STOPS.

If you let companies go under when the market stops, you lose the ability to jump-start the flow of credit, and you lose the economy entirely.

To put this in terms you can understand...the inflation in zimbabwe, and what happened to the reischmark in ww2....this makes them look like a mosquito bite in comparison.

The global economy is so closely tied to the US$, and if it stops, and falls...the WHOLE WORLD falls.
This is the most immediate serious crisis I can think of since the cuban missile crisis...its seriously bad.
