Trump to be arrested

newtboy says...

Big surprise, Trump’s false announcement about his pending arrest a week ago was little more than a fund raising ploy.
He immediately began hammering supporters with demands for cash to protect their favorite (disgraced) president.
There was no evidence he was about to be arrested last Tuesday, the grand jury was/is still in session…he just said it for grift. He’s raised millions over the claim, millions he spends on gold seat belt buckles and toilet seats for his plane, not his flailing failing defense.

What no one seems to have pieced together is, his behavior over the last few years has been calculated to demonstrate a complete break from reality because he’s going to use an insanity defense to shield himself from court…and it will work.

Trump to be arrested

newtboy says...

Bwaaaahahahahaha! You are just so silly. Tantrum time! I think someone needs some juice and a nap.
If they arrest Trump, they will make you more angry, and more insane and dishonest than ever, but little more.

Trump is not a Jedi, he’s a Sith. When you strike down a Sith, they do not become more powerful than you could possibly imagine, they go back to the darkness.

Trump’s appeal has waned, the shine is off that penny but good. You just can’t see it because your face is smashed hard into his grey pubic hair. Even most Republicans want him to go away….and don’t care how. Everyone else wants him under the prison for life to prove laws still matter.

Edit: since this hint at prosecution and the resulting online tantrum, more Republican leaders have come out to endorse DeSantis over Trump despite the fact that DeSantis isn’t running for president. He’s not getting more popular yet.

You know full well that many of the investigations and charges come from well before Biden was elected, many were deferred while Dementia Don was in office until he became a private citizen. Lie to yourself that Biden’s administration has anything to do with any charge, (he’s been quite hands off the justice department unlike Trump that saw and used it as his personal law firm) but you aren’t convincing anyone of anything besides your own gullibility and ignorance, not that Biden’s involvement would matter, no law says he can’t be involved…that’s the bar Trump set.

Even the conservative members of the grand jury in Georgia have said if you knew what they know, even you wouldn’t support Trump anymore. I know that’s not true, absolutely nothing could make you see the reality of Trump’s proven, even admitted criminality, but most people aren’t as delusional as you. Trump is ahead in the polls….ahead of every other declared candidate….Mariam Williamson, Corey Stapleton, Vickey Ramaswamy, and Nikki Haley…only line straddler Haley has any recognition and she’s got zero chance…wait for a real candidate before declaring victory, this is like him playing the first round of golf at his club and declaring himself the course record holder.

Desperate fascists willing to do anything to cling to power….you’re talking about MAGA on Jan 6, right? So many guilty pleas for violent sedition by intolerant white nationalists who admit they were attempting to steal an election for Trump…but you say it wasn’t violent or seditious so nothing to see here, laws have no meaning. 🤦‍♂️

BTW- Joe Tacopina, Trump’s criminal defense attorney consulted with Daniels in 2018 about this issue, which means by law he SHALL NOT represent a client with interests opposed to the “perspective client” (even if no representation/retainment occurs) in the same or a substantially related matter, nor shall any attorney in any law firm the disqualified attorney is associated with. Enjoy Habba as lead counsel! ROTFLMFAHS!!!
Edit: my mistake, he’s not using Habba, he’s using the same attorney that lost all 17 felony counts against the same DA against the Trump orgs and got his CFO put in prison. It just keeps getting better.

A German mark had value….until it didn’t. Your opinion of “fiat money” isn’t universal by any stretch. You say it’s universally better. I wholeheartedly disagree, and point to Germany and Venezuela as proof. They aren’t outliers either, (looking at Africa).

Gold is useful and valuable. Digital footprints aren’t. Paper notes aren’t. Printed circuits, connectors, anti oxidation, actual physical money, jewelry, etc. gold has intrinsic value, a dollar bill has about 13210 joules, so its intrinsic worth is about 1 small 1 gram stick as kindling and little more….no matter if it’s a $1 or $500 bill or a check for billions. Again, see Germany, where bills were more valuable as firewood than money.

This deflation idea again. Give me 3 examples of deflation harming/ending a nation on the gold standard please, I’ve never heard of it happening. (Edit: as far as I can find, I’m no economics professor, for the most part the gold standard was abandoned worldwide in the early 1930’s and the last remnants removed in the early 70’s by Nixon)

Explain how unsecured notes guard against speculation….don’t just claim it. I don’t see it, people made a mint short selling Venezuelan (and other failed) dollars….speculating they would crash….they did. What?

GDP is the metric that imparts value to unsecured notes offered by countries.

I think you had a mini stroke, the paragraph starting USofA is a word salad with no meaning.

Name 3. I named Germany post ww1….they didn’t get to borrow or ignore their debts. What are you talking about?

So, the only ones that don’t/can’t borrow are all the ones that need to.

Pretending basing your dollar on Bitcoin is the same as basing it on gold is outrageous idiotic bullshit. Just nonsense. Utterly moronic and pure fantasy. Don’t try moving the goalposts, that’s what you said.

Yes, the fed will take gold. They don’t take Bitcoin, do they? How about shells? Pebbles?

Jesus, you just want to argue. You’re rambling, switching positions and going off on tangents.
It’s not about whether someone might accept it, it’s about whether it’s universally accepted at one value and about holding its accepted long term value. People once gladly accepted beanie babies as payment….stupid people.
Arcata Ca printed up Arcata dollars….you could get them cheap, businesses took them. Wanna put your nest egg into them? You say that’s good money, as good as dollars. I’ll sell them to you for gold, and let’s see who’s doing better in 10 years. Or I’ll sell you pebbles for gold. Any currency you want, I’ll sell you for gold. How’s that working with pebbles or shells? Can you buy currency with them?

It has everything to do with how much it’s worth. Stop jumping subjects because your point is failing to convince. An economy based on pebbles fails because their neighbors don’t value pebbles, but if their pebbles are gold, they succeed because gold is valued universally.

What are you talking about, the gold standard’s ability to keep up? Huh?! No keep up necessary, no slow down required, gold trades exactly as fast as everything else. What is this nonsense?!?

You mean you can’t overspend and go deep into debt?! And that’s bad?! In your opinion, not many economists….and what makes you think you can’t borrow against gold? Secured loans are easier and cheaper to come by. WHAT?!?

Yes, unsecured paper money can just be printed forever, you CAN “sell the universe”. (Or sell dollars who’s overall value is based on your country’s value) over and over, then print more and sell 9/10 again, print more, sell again. Eventually that money is worth less than it costs to print, and your creditors get paid off in dollars worth a tiny fraction of what they lent you. Not if it’s backed with gold.

Miracle cure?!? Quote it. I think you misread. Secured notes being better than unsecured notes is not “miracle cure” or perfection, it’s just measurably better, safer, and more stable. No system is perfect.

A dollar has value if you can buy shit for a dollar.

Gold likewise has no exchange value if you cant exchange it for goods and services. Its rare and chemically stable and good for memorial coins, has many technical uses and looks cute, but otherwise it hardly matters what symbol for money you choose. There is 200 years of experience with fiat money and gold and silver standards and fiat money has been better, not just usually better or better in some scenario, universally better.

Symbolic money is practical and facilitates quicker turn around prevents deflation makes speculative runs on currency harder and smoothes the economic bumps in the road in general.

GDP is just a metric. Not a bad one but not the actual goal.

USofA is teh most developed. Should have used growing. Deflation in an economy that is growing kills growth.

Restarting countries not only get to ignore their debts, they immediatelly start borrowing again.

The only countries that dont borrow are countries no-one will lend to and countries so rich in some silly resource they can float high in the international currency system without borrowing. Borrowing is good for bussiness.

What is outrageous idiotic bullshit? Believing pegging the value of your paper note to some hoarded luxury makes it a better representation of the mean value of goods and services bought and sold? I could do without gold except for the jacks on my audio cables (just kidding). It does not matter what I exchange for food and gas, if it gets me food and gas, its good money.

Money is what you can pay taxes with. Do they take gold?

If you insist your dollar has the value of some weight of gold how does that influence the willingness of someone else to sell you shit? Unless they specifically intend to buy gold at a fixed price they dont care. They are going to use your dolar to buy some other shit from someone else. So if you take the actual currency out of the equation, when you decide on buying and selling shit you are intuitively comparing that decision with all the other decisions about buying and sellin that you know of. The currency is just a good way to count the measure of usefullness of a product or service and compare among many. Pebbles, bottletops, dollars, gold, pearls, all just a number.

A dollar could be backed by gold or it could not, this has zero impact on the transactions made. What matters is how many transactions are made, at what value, and how much money is available to the entire marketplace in a given period of time. Transactions quickly pass the ability of a gold standard to keep up. If you want a gold standard you have to slow transactions down because you dont have the money for them.

This is why markets need some regulation, otherwise someone might sell the universe twice and then default on one. But a gold standard, at least the type of gold standard I believe was talked about in this thread as a miracle cure, would be too limiting.

What if you suspected he may kill you a few months or years down the road to get revenge?

Giving the money back showed an act of forgiveness which is beneficial to the forgiver and hopefully the forgiven. They now have a chance to become trusted friends because they now know a little more about each other.

In the end the forgiveness you give will all be meant for you.

So, you think there should be new regulations put on oil production companies so they don’t raise prices? Or are you calling for the full nationalization of the oil and gas industry? You must be, because for it to be Biden’s fault, he must control it somehow. I wonder, do you think he sets oil prices? Production schedules? Supply or demand? Controls OPEC or Russia?
Biden released oil reserves to mitigate the price gouging (didn’t work), but without nationalizing oil and gas, there’s little more he could do (maybe threaten to halt all new drilling permits until those already issued are used, but good luck). You would pretend cancelling Keystone XL raised prices, it wasn’t operational yet.

Just ask Texas how privatization and deregulation is working for them. Analysts say they aren’t better prepared for extreme weather than last year because there’s no requirement for them to upgrade, so statewide power outages and multiple deaths can be expected, and the hits to the economy that come with shutting the state down for weeks.

The largest oil and gas companies made a combined $174bn in profits in the first nine months of the year as gasoline prices climbed in the US.
Exxon, Chevron, Shell and BP among group of 24 who resisted calls to increase production but doled out shareholder dividends and bought back stock.
The oil and gas industry has fought Joe Biden’s attempts to pause new drilling permits on federal land, despite its unwillingness to expand operations in order to reap the returns of costlier oil and the fact the industry currently sits on 14m acres of already leased land that isn’t being used, an area about double the size of Massachusetts.
“It’s not the government that is banning them from drilling more,” said Pavel Molchanov, an analyst at Raymond James. “It’s pressure from their shareholders.”

Soooooo…..nationalize? Gas in Venezuela is $.12 a gallon. If not, blame capitalism, not Biden, for your “high” gas price. (Try gas prices in Europe where gas isn’t subsidized, now those are high gas prices).

The music is a little more dramatic than what's going on I think. Kinda like wearing shoes that are too big for the feet.

Do your hands always need to be on the controls at all times? How easy is it to recover from let's say an unexpected seagull attack or a bee swarm? How would you handle an itchy nose? Can you wave to a babe on the beach to get her attention?

Too many unanswered questions for me to buy one.

what we have learned is that republicants are not just losers, they are sorest of losers. every single temper tantrum tear destroys their party a little more. the stack of Ls they are amassing is epic and lmfao. ideally they pay $ for this waste but if this what takes to destroy them permanently im okay paying for it too hahahaha

You should have heard by now, the fake bamboo audit has now completely destroyed Maricopa county's election system because, since the pro Trump "cyber ninjas" (who's name itself indicates they intended to surreptitiously set traps and viruses in the machines and who had no supervision) tampered with vote machines, tabulators, and databases (and have asked for every piece of government held data in the county from addresses and social security numbers to expunged criminal records), so now every single machine in the county they touched must be discarded by court order.

It's impossible to know how many tens to hundreds of millions they wasted, finding nothing, and now they intend to travel the country doing it in every state. They seem intent on destroying our election apparatus, just like Trump's presidency. It wasn't about finding problems and fixing them, it was about destroying the system and wasting billions of tax dollars, then lowering taxes to destroy America with massive debt over stupidity.

Because they played so fast and loose, with no chain of custody, no supervision, and no honesty, their "audit" is completely invalid on it's face. They destroyed the data, destroyed the machines (400 $5000 tabulators and around 10-20 vote machines per tabulator at another $5000+ each at a bare minimum in this one county)....so in the $20- >$40 million range for fraud #1, and they plan on at least 50 more. Good job handing Dominion tens of millions to replace them.....now pay up.

Every single Republican should have to pay for every cent they wasted, with non republicans exempt from the new election fraud fraud recovery tax. Children of Republicans too. I'm writing my congressman.

Why you can't compare Covid-19 vaccines

StukaFox says...

I got the first dose of Pfizer. The tetanus vaccine I had 20 days earlier was a total bitch. My arm felt like I'd been shot there. It was so bad, I couldn't sleep.

The Pfizer Covid vaccine, on the other hand, made my arm a little tender for a day, and that was it. In fact, the initial shot stung a little more than other shots I've had, but was unremarkable other than that.

Got my first dose from Moderna on green St. Patrick's Day. Dang, it gave me a hang over the next day with pain, swollen light red shot area, and tiredness though. I was doing OK until hump day's night. I couldn't sleep well and much too. No fever, vomits, rashes, etc. though. My daily all day allergies actually calmed down for over a day. I'm not looking forward to #2 next month after #1. No J&J since it was very hard to get due to its manufacturing problems from what I read online. I am not going to wait until next month for it.

electric bill has soared after the winter storm in texas

We have the choice to go with whichever provider we choose. Most people opt to go with a fixed rate for 6-12-24 months or whatever, and it costs a little more. Then there are people that go with a variable rate plan to save money, and in this case, the rate went up and they got caught. However, I do think there should be safeguards against drastic rate hikes such as this.

The Worst Gun Control Bill I've Ever Seen

newtboy says...

Not really the first, but the most ridiculous in quite a while.

Some democrats don’t care about sensible gun laws. Some do want little more than actual background checks for all sales, like me. I don’t want violent felons to have easy access to them, nor people with active charges for kidnapping, murder, stalking, terrorism, etc. I don’t see any need for a public registry, although a closed/non public registry would make tracking firearms found after being used in a crime easier, as well as removing guns from people deemed a threat due to real, diagnosed mental defect or disease. This bill was insanely lax in defining what qualifies there, one of many things that made it not just bad, but horrific....and doa.

It’s odd, my brother, who lives in Austin too, says the same thing. He loves to blame ex-Californians for crazy laws, but most of the laws and regulations he complains about don’t exist here. I guess we got rid of our nuts? Thanks for taking them off our hands!

I’ll watch it later when the wife’s asleep.

Mordhaus said:

It's just the first salvo. The underlaying message is the same. Democrats don't care about sensible gun laws, they just want to make it very hard, very expensive, and very punitive for people to own modern firearms of any type.

Thanks to people moving from liberal states, Texas is purple now. Living in Austin, the ultimate far left stronghold, has made me immune to being surprised when a Texas politician submits crazy bills.

In any case, give it a watch. Brandon is funny even when he is upset.
