"Michael" - Awesome Sony PS3 advert!
What's the Parappa reference? Is it the thing that moves out of view from behind the dogs just as the soldiers enter?
>> ^Shepppard:
So, this video makes reference to:
CoD (or, generic WWII shooters), Twisted Metal, Parappa the Rappa, Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank, Final Fantasy, Killzone, Uncharted, God of War, Portal, Infamous, Tekken, MLB/NFL generic games, Metal Gear, Modern Warfare 3, Dead Space, Bioshock, Hitman, Resistance and Assassins Creed.
Not sure if the bartender is supposed to be from somewhere, though.

Ann Arbor, Michigan
I love Ann Arbor. I am biased towards a decade or two ago when it was as I met it, but it still is just an awesome part of the environment of Michigan. Is it a little big city or a big little city? Who knows, who cares. *Promote.

I was just working my way through the unsifted videos and was lucky enough to find it. Normally I go only a couple of pages into the unsifted realm, but I stuck it out to page 4 and there it was. Fate?

BTW, I used to be a frickin GOD at Super Mario Bros, but now I don't even touch a game controller unless my son asks me to play Little Big Planet. The last game I played regularly was the original Mortal Kombat on Sega Genesis. Who's old? I am.

My girlfriend dumped me on Christmas (Videogames Talk Post)
Games that Issy likes
-Pain - Slingshot a dude into different hazardous environments. It's sick, funny and strangely satisfying.
-Echochrome - MC Escher: The Game
-Lumines - A hip and addictive take on Tetris
-Chime - (not yet on PS3) is another puzzle game with some nice music
-Pacman CE and DX - Pacman on X
-Rockband/Rockband Beatles - Good times.
She also got a couple of hours of enjoyment out of the free PS3 virtual space 'Home', but it's pretty lame overall.
Other recommendations
-Little Big Planet - Fun for two players with tons of clever user generated content.
-Heavy Rain - an extremely exiting interactive movie, but unlike most interactive movies, this one doesn't suck.
-Flower - beautiful and unique gaming experience. I wish there were more games like this.
-LocoRoco Coccoricco - a weird Japanese game, where you are a butterfly trying to coax these little smiley faces to follow you. Very unique gameplay and design.

I upvote Little Big Planet. And the sequel when it comes out in January.

The Move controller (Wii rip-off) looks neat, but I haven't played it personally, so couldn't say if it's good or not, but should be casual-gamer friendly. (although the cost of camera and 2 controllers is more than the cost of a Wii)
There are also demos that you can download directly to PS3 from PSN network. It's free to sign up. Maybe your girlfriend will also think Kratos (God of War) is hawt
My girlfriend dumped me on Christmas (Videogames Talk Post)
It came with Uncharted 2. She says the main character is hot. Aside from that disturbing remark, I'll see if she wants to give it a run
Also, Little Big Planet doesn't looks stupid at all, and it sounds like a great game to bond with people.

For PS3?
uhh, try the Uncharted games.
They've got some shooting, but a lot of exploring and some pretty good humour. It's a good way to get your girlfriend into games.
That, and Little Big Planet.
You may think it looks retarded, but it really is amazing.
We hate it when our friends become successful
yeah, indeed, LBA (Little big advendture)... I LOOOOVVVVEEEEEDDD that game!
We hate it when our friends become successful
I'm pretty sure that's Little Big Adventure at 1:50. I haven't thought about that game in ages.

While I will enjoy it some, my 6 year old who is all about Create Mode on many games (he loves making Little Big Planet levels and wants a PSN id so he can share them), will absolutely love it.
I agree it is fantastic marketing. I am guessing the guy sells a ton of IDs each day. Let's say 10 a day (which may be conservative with the hype), that is more than $130 a day. If he nails 100 IDs a day...
EDIT: If this story is to be believed, he made $350,000 in one day once. With over 257,000 IDs sold....

Minecraft Is Just Awesome
Why did I stop learning Java again?
I got to agree with everyone. The game is fun. The initial few videos I saw I was with yellowc's friends saying "That looks like shit." After a while I gave it a go. Now I have joined the cult, paid my dues and find myself spending my time exploring some world.
The next big update comes Halloween... Torches going out will not be fun...

Frosty the Inappropriate Snowman
Alas! I'm sure it put up a good fight but every Custer has his Little Big Horn and this Custer is *dead.
