I'm torn by videos like this.
On the one hand, they're gorgeous and expose many to the graduate of wild nature.
On the other hand, they totally ruin that experience for anyone who went through the expense and trouble to actually be in that natural wilderness.

Imagine you've spent thousands to travel to Iceland, and after days of travel you finally get to the pristine wild you were hoping to find....then HRRRRUUUMMMM....the next few hours are spent listening to the loud noise and scenery ruining of a large drone flitting about, almost following you through the wilderness, ruining the whole experience.

Exactly that happened to my wife and I in Iceland. The assholes went so far as to pass the "do not pass" signs and not only flew around, but set up and stood directly in front of the amazing waterfall we had hiked to see, for hours, even when asked to move.

I think there need to be severe restrictions on drone flying in natural parks and wilderness areas...like 4 days a year when it's allowed and no other times or something. Your beautiful video shouldn't trump the enjoyment of the others who took the trouble to get there, far from civilization.

Next time you're in Iceland, be sure to do a formula offroad driving session. ;-)

That's nothing -- on Iceland Air, they charge you an extra 50 bucks just to sit on the inside of the plane.

That's gotta be either Aeroflot, Iceland Air or Easy Jet.

My answer...twice broken back. I was afraid I couldn't take the bouncing, so I didn't do it when I was there last year. I SOOOO wanted to, though. If it had been at the end of the trip and not the middle, I probably would have chanced it, but a week of my wife dragging me around Iceland totally broken because I just had to play would have probably gotten me divorced.
Also, $500 for 10 minute is hard to swallow.

I like how Iceland stood out.

My wife and I went last year for about 9 days, drove the whole island's perimeter. We stayed at airbnbs, around $100 a day for 2 people, and Iceland's version of rent a wreck wasn't bad (I don't recall how much, but I am a seriously cheap bastard, so it couldn't be much). Most stuff was free, the attractions are mostly nature, but true, food and gas weren't cheap at all.
Many times you can get a deal where you accept a few days layover and get free lodgings, they want tourism.
Definitely worth looking into...I hope you can swing it. Good luck, and good travels.

Yeah, you're not the first person to tell me to go to Iceland. I definitely wouldn't mind checking it out, though I think it might be a bit out of my budget. Not just because it's generally expensive (though that's definitely what I've heard), but also because I think I'd have to rent a car, which really adds up when you're on your own and don't have anyone to split expenses with.

Interesting, but geography doesn't protect from ballistic and or guided missiles, the most likely weapons of choice.

In the event of a nuclear attack, is being a vault dweller really what you want? It's something to consider....I don't want to be a Morlok.

I would feel far safer in Iceland. Who's going to nuke anything anywhere near Iceland? Europe, on the other hand, has plenty of targets...and would probably have plenty of desperate dying people to deal with. They're as scary to me as the bombs if not more.

Iceland. You won't be sorry you made the effort. Not certain if you count that as Europe, but it's worth seeing.
