everything about the drug war and addiction is wrong
You need to draw a line somewhere. Humans, from the very beginning of humanity, always tried to get wasted, so you won't be able to pull of another prohibition era. On the other side you can legalise everything and decriminalise everybody (I see no reason why a methcook shouldn't go to jail, fuck Heisenberg). However, the US government is extremely shitty at drawing lines as they give the chalk away to lobbyists and other people whose job depends on prohibition and criminalisation. Maybe we should let actual drug and addiction experts in on this.
What's also interesting is that nicotine, despite being legal, is about as addictive as crack cocaine or heroin... drug policy is really whack.
Essentially, if they want to be consistent they need to start sending swat teams into corner stores for distributing nicotine and alcohol - nicotine is nearly as addictive, and alcohol is more harmful to society (than heroin/cocaine).

Neutron stars explained
Degeneracy is really, really cool. It's all about squashing things into as tight a region of space as you can. It's an observable justification of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle and the Pauli exclusion principle (the one that says you can accurately measure the position or the velocity of an object but not both and the one that says that two neutrons -in this case- can't both occupy the same very small region of space).
To be a neutron star, the remnant core after an unstable giant blows its outer layers away has to be more massive than 1.44 solar masses, but anything bigger than about 2.5 solar masses probably becomes a black hole. On the less massive end you get white dwarfs which are prevented from shrinking any more by electron degeneracy pressure - electrons won't let the star get any denser. But if you throw more mass on it, even electron degeneracy pressure can't resist the gravitational force and you get a neutron star, supported by neutron degeneracy - the neutrons won't let the star get any denser now. And then finally more and more mass and it becomes a black hole, which is where even the neutron degeneracy pressure can't sustain the gravitational force.
I mean, that's fucking cool - there is so much gravitational force that the electrons have to team up with the protons to become neutrons, because neutrons can get slightly closer together. And then if the neutrons aren't happy, you've got a singularity which is a fancy way of saying we don't know what the hell just happened but stay away from it if you like being in the part of the physical universe that kinda makes sense to us.
There's also speculation of a quark degeneracy state beyond neutron degeneracy.

Lucy TRAILER 1 (2014) - Luc Besson, Scarlett Johansson Movie
Meh, film is a visual medium... you do need some kind of indication to the audience.
And I actually kinda hope that's the plot, otherwise it's just ridiculous.
On the plus side, Heisenberg will be pleased.... meth gives you superpowers!!!
I hate that she has amazing mental powers, but still needs to wave her hand at things to use those mental powers, like the drug had turned the world into a touch screen. Looks fun, but DUH.
EDIT: Oh NOOOO! Did I just figure out that most of this movie (all the good parts) is going to turn out to be her hallucination due to overdose of the drug she's carrying, then she'll die at the end of the overdose (like Suckerpunch)?
PLEASE NOOOO! If so, please just shit can this movie now.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_razor#Science_and_the_scientific_method
"In science, Occam's Razor is used as a heuristic (rule of thumb) to guide scientists in the development of theoretical models rather than as an arbiter between published models.[8][9] In physics, parsimony was an important heuristic in the formulation of special relativity by Albert Einstein,[36][37] the development and application of the principle of least action by Pierre Louis Maupertuis and Leonhard Euler,[38] and the development of quantum mechanics by Max Planck, Werner Heisenberg and Louis de Broglie.[9][39] In chemistry, Occam's Razor is often an important heuristic when developing a model of a reaction mechanism.[40][41]"
You are pointing the finger and saying I am ignorant yet you dismiss Occams razor in ignorance of its application to the scientific method. According to the principle of parsimony I do have an argument but it appears you can't be bothered to consider what I am saying. This is an intellectual laziness which seems to typify our culture today. It is an apathetic reasoning process that sees everything through the lens of stereotypes and generalities. If I am wrong about that I will happily admit it, and you still have ample opportunity to establish otherwise.
You have NO argument. Occam was a 14th century monk and his premise was "keep things simple."
Breaking Bad Cranston-- flogging Preparation H!
The 'H' is for Heisenberg.
Walt gives Hank the Wrong CD
If you watch this week's episode of Breaking Bad, it will all make sense. It's even funnier tho if you know the whole context.
Here's the synopsis for this week's episode in which wiki describes this portion of the story as follows:
"Walt and Skyler invite Hank and Marie to a restaurant. The Whites try to convince the Schraders to keep their children out of the situation, but the Schraders refuse to comply; Marie even states bluntly that Walt should kill himself to end it all. As the Whites leave, Walt gives his in-laws a DVD of his "confession." Playing it at home, Hank and Marie discover it is really a form of blackmail accusing Hank of being the mastermind of the Heisenberg empire and forcing Walt to cook meth for him. Hank then finds out that operation and therapy which made him walk again was paid at Walt's expense, from Marie's unwitting receipt of Walt's drug money, which gives credence to Walt's story and torpedoes his own credibility."
I have no idea what is going on here. Can anyone link to the original video so I can get some framing?
Is Bryan Cranston Co-Starring in Adam Carolla's Next Movie??
*Promote Heisenberg! This was pretty hilarious.
Greatest Mysteries of WWII: Hitler's Stealth Fighter
Heisenberg was indeed working on developing an atomic weapon for the Nazis, but he was still a couple of years behind the efforts at Los Alamos. The American project had better resources and the aid of Neils Bohr, Heisenberg's former mentor and colleague.
Richard Feynman on helping the Manhattan Project
That's interesting... I wasn't aware of that. It seems Nazi policies and distaste for "Jew Science" greatly slowed their nuclear research down, but they were still making fast progress on it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_nuclear_energy_project
"In the late 1930s, Germany might very well have had a 5-year lead on the West in [atomic weaponry]. ... [But] Manhattan did go forward, first and foremost as a counter to the feared German development [of atomic weaponry]." Google Books: How to lose a War.
The following thread isn't a primary source, but it's enough to make me think more research would probably find similar conclusions to the commenters:
http://www.city-data.com/forum/politics-other-controversies/1062440-will-isreal-attack-nuclear-power-plant-4.html#ixzz2OnfHjt7X
We knew the Nazis weren't pursuing Nuclear bombs because of defected scientists. Hitler thought of it as "Jew Science".
Atheist Advertising
Well it suggested it to Einstein. Unfortunately, it was a smart ass Kraut called Heisenberg
How does quantum mechanics suggest that there's a higher power?
Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle Experiment - Veritasium
That has to be the most comprehensible explanation/demonstration of Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle I've ever seen.
Breaking Bad - Final Scene of Season 5 Episode 8
I deliberately did not write "Hank finds out (the truth) about Walt/Heisenberg/W.W." or something similar, so it would not be a spoiler unless people (who haven't watched the episode) watched the video. Hank did find out about several things throughout the series. Furthermore, the title did not state how he finds out what he finds out. Even if you connected the title to a scenario that happens to be true without having watched the video, you probably already knew that at some time over the course of the show's last season, Hank might eventually happen to find out the truth about Walt. The question is, or was, how he finds out, which the title does not give away. It was the least spoilery title I could think of that still described what the video is about.
If I had called the video "Breaking Bad - Spoiler", nobody would have watched it, because nobody would have known what it's about. However, I hereby apologize to everyone for choosing this title.
Max Payne 3 Trailer
Did Max Payne "break bad"? (Shave his head)
I can't tell if he's the bald guy or not....seems like he might be. Maybe he'll get a porkpie hat and we can call him Heisenberg.
