Actually, I recall it too, which is why I mentioned it, sarcastically... moreover, I recall the '94 Vancouver Riot after the Canucks' almost-win, and the 2008 riot in Montreal after a win as well.

Actually I recall a moment in time when hockey fans did cause a riot and millions in damage in Edmonton several years ago. Sorry but regional membership won't prevent acts of human stupidity.
Besides this the Associated press should be scolded for coming down on these fine athletes for celebrating mildly with OMG cigars, champagne and beer. I know it's not very lady-like but hell they're hockey players!!!
>> ^Payback:
What the Hell. Totally agree. They weren't doing anything the other 4000 Canadians in the stands weren't doing. In fact, the fans didn't even go outside and have a riot that causes $5M+ damage. THAT'S the Canadian way to celebrate a hockey victory!

Canada, you just won the gold medal in your home country! What are you going to do next?
We're going to calmly exit the building and start preparing for the 2014 Olympics. After a night of 8 hours of sleep, of course.

Toxic Alberta (Pt. 1) -- The future of oil Sucks
Form about 1971 and onwards, the Progressive Conservative Party has won every election in Alberta with about 41% - 70% of the vote each time. The Liberal Party gets about 26% - 30%, and the rest is devided up between the multitude of other parties. Our voter turnout is also one of the lowest in Canada. Although Calgary and Edmonton have large amounts of intelligent, well informed individuals, we are outnumbered by a vast majority of white, baby boomer, SUV driving, soft right wing conservative types, who see the tremendous wealth generated by these energy policies, and vote every election for the status quo. If you had one of the highest standards of living, one of the most stable economies in north america (virtually untouched by the current "recession"), one of the highest rates of disposable income, wouldn't you feel comfortable voting to keep that system intact instead of plunging your entire economy into a virtual dark age?
Obama's Message To American Indians
I'm 1/8th Cherokee. You have to be 1/16th or greater for the Federal government to recognize you, so I could be taking some of those sweet, sweet gub'ment handouts if I could prove it, which I cannot because when my great grandmother married a white man she was removed from the Cherokee register. I seriously am about as Native American as I am an astronaut, so it would be silly for me to take any Federal money.
@Payback. It's not Quebec. I'm pretty sure their tribal band is near Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
@KnivesOut. You're so smart. You have a firm grasp on "logical" things. I marvel at your mental prowess. Reparations for dead people is EXACTLY like disaster relief for the living. You nailed it. Bravo.
This is the gateway into random dog poisoning.....

On-topic: I let my dog shit wherever she wants, and I don't clean it up. Yes, I'm an anarchist!
But seriously, what's better for the environment, my dog's little turds going into the ground, or a plastic bag full of turds going into a land-fill, to -never- decompose.
Depends where you live. http://www.edmonton.ca/for_residents/garbage-recycling.aspx
"Through recycling and composting, Edmonton is diverting 60% of residential waste from landfill."
My city has been doing this for many years. We can't compost all trash sent to the landfill, but we do compost the majority of it.
Semi with box trailer gets blown over !!
Pretty cool to see in action. This is a semi-regular (no pun intended) occurrence on the highway between Edmonton and Calgary. Semi trailers have so much surface area for the wind to hit and if they are empty their center of gravity is precariously high so wind warnings are ignored only by the truckers most in a hurry.
Cheech and Chong meet Tron 2.0.
Very cool, I love it..
I'm so sad I missed them when they came through Edmonton.

4 Girls Falsely Cry Rape - Cabbie Has Incident On Video

Stupid bloody Edmonton cops, they got evidence handed to them on a silver platter.
Well yes and no. They have a good amount of evidence, proving the Facts and Issues of a 140 is a lot more difficult than just having the video on this. There's quite a bit, but nailing someone with a 140 is more tedious in Canada then you'd believe.
I really can't say what the full investigative route was neither can you. Unless you're a member of the Edmonton PD. If you are then I'm sure you can enlighten us. But if we look at the F&I, mislead(sure), causes a peace officer to enter(sure), making a false statement(possibly) now the question is did they make a statement or did they simply file a complaint? See this is the problem. If they only filed a complaint then we no longer have all the F&I, and as such no go with the charge. On the other side, it may be possible for the police to recoup the dispatch costs from the girls.

Quote from the video - "Police decided though to close down the case saying there wasn't enough evidence either way..."
Stupid bloody Edmonton cops, they got evidence handed to them on a silver platter.

Absolutely bitches. However, I'm not sure he deserves a $60,000 settlement. He has the camera there exactly for situations like this, so he can prevent himself being charged, not so he can milk a years salary out of a few Edmonton girls.
