i was a tad reluctant to post this video.
not because i didnt find it entertaining,because i did..this dude is off the rails with his passion and his rage,and i adore how he lays it all out.

no...i was reluctant because it is so obvious his bias and narrow interpretation of whats going on to fit his narrative,and i had a genuine anxiety that some of the sift would interpret my posting this as somehow representing MY thoughts on the situation in germany.

i was so unsure i went to a fellow sifter who i admire and respect very much,and who also happens to live in germany to get his take on this video (and if he found it offensive).

which he didn't and even offered up a very detailed opinion,not only on this video but the situation in germany (thanks @radx).

i don't really concern myself too much on if people feel offended.there is someone who will always feel/be offended and if i over-thought every nuance or detail,i probably would never post anything except cute kitten videos.

but the situation in germany is a clusterfuck and people are getting hurt,and i didnt want to come across as callous.

a main driving force why i posted this video is due to so many here in the states that are literally freaking out about 15,000 syrian refugees coming here,and this dude is part of that demographic.

my country has become a gaggle of bed-wetting pussies.

germany:population 85,000,000-refugee population 1,000,000

that is a pretty big damn influx of refugees,and it appears the german government was in no way prepared to assimilate that many refugees (thanks again @radx).

united states of america:population 315,000,000-refugee population (for the first year) 15,000.

and my country literally wet itself over that wee,tiny number.

so we get rants like this xenophobic bed-wetter.twisting the facts to fit his narrative,to feed his childish rage tantrum.

Raising the age is fine if it is means tested.

Poorer people don't live as long. Poorer people tend to work at jobs that are much harder on their bodies. Adding years to when they are eligible to collect social security isn't right.

Can you imagine being a janitor at age 68? Dang.

I also agree that capitalism is the problem with our discourse. It's not just the selling of hate, it is also the selling of fear and sex and cute kitten videos. When a news room has to make a profit, they are offering stories that pander to the lowest common denominator. Reagan's Iran contra mess, while well covered, was nothing compared to the coverage of Clinton and the stained dress and the cigar. Because sex sells.

I actually agreed with BillO on a few issues. I think raising the social security age and cutting rich people off from social security benefits is a reasonable idea. I also agree that people are being hired to spread hate... mainly by the FOX news network. He also admits Iraq was a bad idea/disaster.
Bill doesn't seem that extreme when compared to the Glenn Becks and Alex Jones of the world.

Ha, ha, good catch! These kittens came from a feral mother and initialy were not very recepetive to to human touch, but they are coming around. The little Orange boy was the least receptive. They are doing much better and the gloves have come off.

I respectfully disagree. I think that the comments add quite a bit to any video, and that the entire experience of watching the video and reading the comments should lend itself to the channel designation(s). For example, if I sifted a video of a cute kitten lounging by a fan on a hot summer day and titled it Hot Pussy, it could be argued that a nsfw would apply based on the title. If I work at a place that frowns on F-bombs and sexually explicit language, it would not be appropriate to have the words "Hot Pussy" at the top of my screen, even if it could be argued in a court of law that the content of the video was innocuous. It would be Not Safe For Work. Likewise, a video with the word "cunt" just a few inches below the picture would not be something that most people would want their kids to see.

So I am someone who posts a lot of gay videos.

I am a 56 year old straight woman who is patently appalled by the way gays have been treated in our society and I am thrilled that some progress is being made towards full acceptance of LGBT folks as human beings.

You know how to get the "gay" videos to stop?

Repeal DOMA. Vote to allow gays to marry in all states. Support anti-bullying programs in your local schools. Be outraged by their treatment and tell your pastor and your friends that you are outraged.

I love this site. And I love that one of the biggest trolls here, someone who loves to rile someone with an inflammatory comment or two or three, is the easiest pushover for a cute kitten video. That sums this place up in a sentence -- smart, irreverent and has a heart.

I do feel sorry for religious folks on this site -- it can be pretty rough. I wince at some of the comment streams. But this is where you are, my friend. Move on to the next video. There is always a next video.
