What Are 13% of Americans Afraid of?

"Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing when all other options have been exhausted." -- Winston Churchill.

Also, Americans, World War 2 was over 60 years ago. The Moon landing was almost 40 years ago. What the hell have you done in the near half-century since then to justify your unbridled and grating arrogance?

What country are you from and what has it done to justify your own grating arrogance?

(Your equating Churchill with Hitler ultimate proof of that)

Do you know nothing of Churchill's words regarding the inferiority of Jews? You are completely clueless. Please start questioning your own beliefs when you are sooooo clueless.

His words regarding Jews are mixed: "Some people like the Jews, and some do not. But no thoughtful man can deny the fact that they are, beyond any question, the most formidable and the most remarkable race which has appeared in the world."

His words regarding Islam are unequivecal, and ring true through the years: "How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries.

Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities — but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome."
The River War, volume II pp. 248–50 (1899)

Churchill was a great man: a benefit to humanity. To equate him with Hitler robs you of your last shred of credibility.

That's a keen and concise use of sarcasm, and one wasted on most of the sheeple here. The Jews excel the world around at arts, entertainment, science, medicine, business and finance, literature, the list goes on.
Muslims the world around have devoted their genius to killing, destroying societies, oppressing women and, oh ya, Allah.

The Mohammaden blight has nothing to do with race. It is the culture and religeon. Pakistan, Phillipines, Thialand, India, Iraq, Darfur, Beslan, Sweden, France, Britian. All these places and more they are assaulting the rules of law and advancing barbarism.

---
You are clearly a racists. Your sick twisted mind can't see that if you swap Jew with Caucasian and Muslim with Jew you sound exactly like Churchill or Hitler? There are some pitfalls with your racial superiority statements, but the irony is lost on you. You are sad and ignorant of any western civ history.

----
Dirt - Muslim (Islam) is not a race, it is a religion (or cult). There are Muslims of many, many ethnic types, as there are Arabs (and "Palestinians" of both various Muslim and Christian sects.

I am well versed in many aspects of Western Civilization and culture, as well as other cultures. This allows me to eexamine much of the same empirical evidence, and dran different conclusions than you and the "me too" crowd. You will benefit from this Diversity of Opinion.

I am emphatically not racist, I recognize abject evil, and will continue to point it out in the actions and policies of Hamas. The moral equivalence you espouse is a twisting of logic around a dark core of emptiness.

Bush On Al Qaeda Not In Iraq Before Invasion: "So What?"

volumptuous says...

>> ^bcglorf:

Actually, no. If the British and Americans weren't there, Saddam(not Iraqi's) would be killing Kurds and Shia quicker than you can say genocide. Yeah, he might off some Al-Qaeda chaps at the same time too, but I consider the current situation the lesser evil myself. Go read about Saddam's Al-Anfal campaign before pining for the days that Saddam 'kept the peace'.

OK, let's go back even further.

If BP and Winston Churchill didn't go there, there would be noone to overthrow, and Kurdistan would still exist, probably as a very very wealthy country. Sadaam would never have been in power, because there would have been no Iraq for him to stage his coup.

But if we're talking about today, then why not ask what the Iraqis want? Especially the women who now live under strict sharia law, or the children who have no clean water and no schools, or.... we can just go on and on and on about this.

Japanese Animation of the Hiroshima A-Bomb

joedirt says...

This myth is a complete lie. This story about "millions of Americans would die" and Japan would never surrender, so the A-bomb was the only choice...

It's a complete lie and simple-minded people keep repeating the gov't propaganda. Go read the no declassified presidential records on this. Truman admits much of the truth.

Why drop two bombs? Why was one not good enough?

The truth is that the Russians were marching towards Japan. If Russian army would have got there, they would be the "conquerors" and Japan would have been under their rule for the last half century. Instead the US rebuilt Japan and created a different foothold into the far East.

For the record, I think the asshole who signed their names to the side of bombs, like Fat Man or Little Boy will rot in hell. I'm obviously not talking about the pilots.

Anyways, go read some Truman diaries. He clearly only used the bombs to end the war a few days earlier and under US victory terms, to keep the Russians out.

July 18 1945 - ... P.M.[Churchill] and I ate alone. Discussed Manhattan (it is a success).

Decided to tell Stalin about it. Stalin had told P.M. of telegram from Jap Emperor asking for peace. Stalin also read his answer to me. It was satisfactory. Believe Japs will fold up before Russia comes in.

I am sure they will when Manhattan appears over their homeland. I shall inform Stalin about it at an opportune time.

Also consider this. The US used up their entire atomic arsenal all at once, we never waited to see what reaction there was to the first bomb.

re: ehm... science?

I'm not concerned with whether it's true or not, I'm just saying that relying on it as "knowledge about human nature" might conceivably influence the lawmaking process (we don't need the people to vote on this law because it's been scientifically proven to be sound), and that would be a technocratic tendency.
I hope i didn't come off as a hater of science or research into human nature earlier (some of the replies seemed to think so); I'm not, i just see the democratic state as a bit more fragile and precarious than others perhaps do.

I'm with Churchill on this one: "it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried"

Joseph Goebbels ("Aus Churchills Lügenfabrik" published in Die Zeit ohne Beispiel, 1941)

Rather, it depends on a remarkably stupid thick-headedness. The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous.

US Office of Strategic Services' profile on Hitler
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.
