here's something for your obscure channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znVuDjtoMn4
yay! thanks dude. In reply to this comment by EDD: From those in the list, 90s or Insects. And OK, that's it - I'm had it, I'm finally making a Water channel.
thanks, schmawy In reply to this comment by schmawy: *quality vandalizm
You know, I was kidding when I said you probably had the same idea for a channel as me. Now I'm a little creeped out You're welcome to it though, if that's what you're planning. I think we need one, and I won't get a diamond for ages. In reply to this comment by EDD: Unless it is given to mauz, I'd say we should wait until a newly-made diamond creates it - I want somebody who knows their stuff running a channel - which is why for example rottenseed is in charge of *Drugs and also why I didn't create *health or *h2o (for all things water), two of the channels we most need, imho, when I became a bronze diamond.
Much obliged In reply to this comment by arvana: This is awesome! *promote
RE:RE: Arts & Crafts hmmm I just don't see the beaty-part, apart from "huh, neat idea", as in I get what his intention is, I just don't think the product is very succesful. I can understand setting limits for oneself to encourage creativity, by choosing a difficult medium or location, for instance. When I look at the cloud in the video, though, I just think "here's a guy who is overstepping his capabilities - study fireworks for a couple of years and try again". But then I'm sort of grumpy & eclectic when it comes to art, and very suspicious of things that get critics' acclaim.
In reply to this comment by griefer_queafer: >> ^Crake:Too much concept, and not enough craft. Wow. I wholeheartedly disagree. Do you know how much craft goes into something like this? I agree that much of its substance lies in the conceptual, but my god man, that is a beautifully crafted art object. Check out the documentary PBS's art:21 did on him. You may appreciate the work more if you see how much knowledge and artistry goes into his pieces. Sorry for the terse comment, I just used your video as an occasion to whine about a pet peeve of mine, that a lot of artists these days only do just enough work to convey some concept or message, and don't particularly care about the quality of the end result. The half-hearted mushroom cloud is a good example - or Damien Hirst paying some contractor to do the actual hands-on work of making his pieces. Not much love seems to go into it, is what I'm saying, I guess.
In reply to this comment by Crake: That sure is a creepy avatar you got there... where is it from? In reply to this comment by Almanildo: That's the logo of Gentle Giant, my favourite prog-rock band. I've posted some music by them here. Heh, reminds me a bit of good old Ludwig-van in this.
That sure is a creepy avatar you got there... where is it from?
Hey I finally finished downloading the Myst III soundtrack, as per your suggestion on Last FM... it's nice, i like it! But: the tracks are way too short... 0:40-1:30 for most of them... is that right? or are there longer versions i can get?
i unknowingly posted a dupe of your video, which since died (but is not in the deadpool yet) http://www.videosift.com/video/Christopher-Hitchens-Being-Astute-Re-Free-Speech#comment-517601
In reply to this comment by xxovercastxx: This is dupe-ish. http://www.videosift.com/video/Christopher-Hitchens-on-Freedom-of-Speech The posting guidelines currently include dead videos as dupes (http://www.videosift.com/faq-en.php#posting_guidelines). I'd recommend offering this to TheSofaKing, but I guess it's your call. Fair enough. I'm new here, how do I offer it to him?
