Weekend Update: Christmas Joke Swap 2023 - SNL
Right, he has more practice…but after the “little art films” he’s not getting any protection from the Avengers…he might want to try sleeping on his ferry for a while. I’m pretty certain previous years has ensured he gets no police protection. That’s what I mean by no safe harbor, Che still has home to go to.
“Y’all need Jesus” was great. The Beyoncé joke was good too, pissed off all black women at once, but IMO Jost is definitely in more danger.
I mean... Jost's been living under police (or Black Widow) protection for years since Che's been owning him every Joke Swap. It's something that need not be said anymore.
This is the first time Che's in sweating territory though. From just 3 words! That's a credit to Jost. I think Jost did better this year than any others, even though he still couldn't beat Che (a foregone conclusion).
The fake poet/activist black lady move is genius on Che's part, there's just no win for Jost, and her no contact with Jost is just pure humiliation from beginning to end.

Che!?!
I’m pretty sure it’s Jost that’s left with no safe harbor here!

... and the most dangerous. I bet Che's sweating buckets by the end of the segment.

Probably the funniest Weekend Update ever
Tom Hanks At-Home Quarantine Monologue - SNL
He did introduce the musical guest, but other than the intro that was it.
His dig on SNL "trying to be funny" was actually the funniest part of the show. Pete Davidson's music video was pretty good (not funny, but still entertaining). Michael Che talking about his grandma was good (not funny, but touching).
Other than the intro I didn't see a Tom Hanks skit on SNL YT.
Spinning Swing Challenge
The yt info is:
Or, in English:
Tried to watch it closely, but couldn't figure out how they had it rigged to release the 2nd person once the 1st drops off. Impressive!

ayn rand and her stories of rapey heroes
I have the "gall" to admit it that she inspired me in high school. I know numerous people who were as well. None of them are antisocial assholes. I'm perhaps a bit anti-social in the respect that I'm very much an introvert, but people who know me generally don't describe me as an asshole.
It wasn't accidental. Advocating for reason, science, individual rights, critical thinking, trying to be good at what you do, being unafraid to think differently than others, none of that makes you automatically an asshole.
I don't think she was evil. I think her case is complicated as many philosophers were. There's good and bad to it. That's like saying Che Guevara is ipso facto being a fan or somehow on some plane similar or equivalent of being a fan of Stalin, and therefore it's offensive.
Just... no... that's just factually and logically not true.
No no no, being inspired by her, by itself, is indeed less offensive than being inspired by Hitler, the consequences are less dire.
But having the gall to admit publicly that you are inspired by her unconditionally is equally as bad as .. substitute Adolf where applicable.
By doing either you admit to be a self-conscious antisocial asshole.
I understand that reading her book can accidentally shove you in a better direction than before, and that is very unlikely in the other scenario, I give you that.
I was inspired by Vladimir Mayakovsky and Che Guevara for what thats worth :-)
So a general all-encompassing nod to her is just like a general nod to any evil. And you dont get out of that by quantifying evil and making it relative.

TYT American Sniper review
Here's a liberal hero: Michael Moore. Speaking truth to power, taking it to GM or whatever. Loves Cuban healthcare.
Here's a liberal hero: Margaret Sanger. Abortionist, racist, wanted abortion for black babies.
Here's a liberal hero: William Ayers. Bomb maker, terrorist, intellectual.
Here's a liberal hero: Che Guevara. Murderer, revolutionary, fashion icon.

Michael Che on Impending Immigration Attack!
I love Miachael Che's final words, "I guess we're just waiting on the love part to kick in." Would have been great to show all those people shouting at the children how they are unwanted here. Nothing is a better example of the love of Jesus than telling a child seeking refuge, fleeing a bad situation created by US policy, than to say how unwanted they are. I mean sure Jesus said the greatest commandment is love, but clearly He didn't mean if they come from another country or sin differently than you do. I mean that has to be the Republican justification for their actions that ignore that commandment.

US Rep. To Deputy Drug Czar: You're 'Part of the Problem'
What about that Botticelli during the early Italian Renaissance that painted those frescoes of skimpy lingerie ladies like the one in the giant clam shell??
Wonder if this guy is related to old, Sandro??
Passami Che bong, per favore??
