Street performer bass battle
This is why bands usually only have one bass guitar. They tend to play off at each other until one of them asserts it's dominance over the other.
Jack Black & Fallon recreate "More Than Words" Music Video
My oldest brother fancies himself as a guitar player, and EVERYTIME he covers something, this is one of the three songs he plays, and wants someone to sing with him. It's basically the same as me picking up a bass guitar and playing Tom Sawyer, except I stopped doing that 30 years ago because nobody wants to hear you play the same thing everytime you play.
Now everytime he does it, people loudly groan in disgust. lol

100 Amazing bass lines - Davie504
Interesting to see that compared to a guitar version of one of these, there's a lot more soul and funk.
BTW "Treat Her Right" was a Roy Head song, The Commitments were a fictional band and just did covers, and the very first song (Seven Nation Army) doesn't actually have a bass guitar in it (it's an electric guitar through a Digitech Whammy pedal down an octave).
Still the 4 string guys don't get nearly enough recognition, so *promote the low end!
edit: just finished watching.. no The Chain?!!?! WTF, dude!! give me back my promote, you couldnt-handle-six-strings bastard!
Robert Trujillo's Bass Guitar Play on Time Warp.
Show a video selfie of yourself playing a bass guitar in slow motion.
When I play bass or guitar I seldom use a pick (instead, the thumb and index finger together using index nail as a pick) & I employ a two-finger flutter as well because I too, love the sound of flamenco
Still working on the whole slap-action, miles to go before I sleep. I think you have to have more African in you than I have to sound like Larry Graham
"MusicVille" Couch Gag
No bass guitar? Wow, these couch skits are getting longer and longer. It is somewhat better than the whole episode! Oh, and I like classical music more than jazz.
Have you ever heard of a baritone guitar? It sounds awesome!
I modified my electric guitar to accept baritone tuning not so long ago. I really like the low grunt and the fact that i have more space between regular and bass guitar.
Jeri and her Commodore 64 bass guitar

The Heavy - How You Like Me Now? (live on Letterman)

but he's picking it! It's only acceptable when Lemmy does it.

Upvote for the Rickenbacker bass. Looks like a 4003. Noyice!
Picking a bass = guitar player that decided to play bass because guitar players are a dime a dozen.
This is probably true. It was of me anyway.
I've always admired finger-pluckers during live performances. But for recording, using a pick generally always sounds better in the mix.

Tried guitars a little as well. Always wanted to play it from a very early age. It was thought it might detract or distract from my piano playing so....
I play neither now for too many years.
How long have you played? What instrument do you have?
In reply to this comment by ZappaDanMan:
I could never connect with the guitar for some reason, the dexterity is insane.. Guess I'm sticking with classical piano. Nice vid.
I've played 7, 2 is constant, piano is main. (mandolin, bass, guitar, piano, drums, accordian, flute). im clasically trained on piano for a long time... learning music is the hard part. Application of music to an instrument is easier. It's just learning the mechanics. You don't forget driving when you drive your friends car.
..yeah there are many problems with the modern teaching methods... I was lucky enough to be introduced to Suzuki method.
The Girl at the Video Game Store
A little bit off topic but I want that bass guitar so bad.
Johnny Cash & June Carter - If I were a Carpenter
Upvote for Johnny, June and the Ernie Ball Stingray bass guitar.
Zero Punctuation: Brütal Legend
>> ^entr0py:
One problem was that they were so interested in paying homage to the Metal that half of the noteworthy characters were voiced by old drug addled musicians who speak in s sort of mumbling monotone. Yes, Ozzy isn't the only one.
Dude, the aging metal voice overs were some of the best parts! Fucking Lemmy Kilmister, the bassist and lead singer of Motörhead, as "The Killmaster", sends you to the spider cavern to fetch him some freshly spun bass guitar strings to heal your fallen comrade with the soothing sounds of metal -- that was just badass to the core.
To be perfectly honest, you gotta love heavy metal to love Brutal Legend. I agree with almost everything Yahtzee said, but Tim Schafer and Jack Black's sense of humor combined with all the metal fanfare made this worth the buy. In fact, like all Tim Schafer games, I will probably replay this many times over the years.
