Also Dag, does this mean rottenseed receives such a warning as well for his comment on my Profile Page?

PLEASE, sir, first before any such action on your part, might I please intercede? The above was not truly a request for action as I do not feel it necessary. And neither am I insulting your intelligence or perspicaciousness. I merely wish to be clear. He was, perhaps even nobly, giving tit for perceived tat and I understand. He is not aware of the situation either. I think it, if I may humbly offer such, illustrates that things sometimes are more complicated than is seen at first blush.

And, Dag, I am not presuming to dictate when and how you act on your own site. I am asking you to, in my case, to at least ask about the situation. I think that I may have in some small way earned that.

Besides, rottenseed's string of *'s is much more pregnant.... Just saying.

Starred what out Dag? Point of fact, you/she/others may construe or infer to your mind's content or discontent. By design or otherwise, it is rather up to the mind(s) of the reader(s). However, it does indeed seem you are 'bots looking for bad words. Are you going to ban me for *'s. I have seen much worse here, by far. That is neither here nor there. It is your cite after all.

BTW, this unfortunate situation was promulgated by this individual(**********) calling me names and accusing me deleteriously and not just once. Hence my ire and venom. I rather feel like not letting it go as have I before, other cheek and all that.

While not generally given to responding in kind. I unfortunately feel justified if not morally on the high ground.

I'm confused as to the downvotes on kymbos here. He's saying that if Pegg's son had said cunt (a very vulgar word, imo), that would be more difficult to take than him saying vagina (which I don't consider a bad word).

>> ^Sagemind:
I don't know the background of the word (where it originated) - but in my world, or the way I've always heard it said was that "Jigga" was the extension of the work Jig - The Jig (Irish: port) is a form of lively folk dance, as well as the accompanying dance tune, originating in England in the sixteenth century and today most associated with Irish dance music and Scottish country dance music.[1] Jigs were originally in 2/4 time, but have been adapted to a variety of time signatures, by which they are often classified into groups, including light jigs, slip jigs, single jigs, and treble jigs. - I know some people are used to the derogative term: Used as a disparaging term for a Black person. Frequently used in the southern portion of the United States. Human of African descent, having jig like qualities. - But for me, it's a person who dances because I just don't have those racial words in my vocabulary. (I've actually never heard anyone in real life use this term as a racial word.) Sidenote: when I was a kid I learned not to be afraid of the boogy-man by realizing he was just a man who danced (otherwise know and the dancing-man.) >> ^vpvpvp: P.S. how is saying Jigga any better than saying the N word?

The most common use of "Jigga" in the world of Hip Hop at least, is in reference to Jay-Z. It's a nicknamed he coined for himself and often uses in his songs. That's the most popular and most mainstream use for the word and most likely how SHE has even heard or why she uses it. HOWEVER, in this instance it's just to replace the N word in the song which is no different than just saying it. Also, if she did say the N word while reciting the song, I wouldn't even have batted an eye. You're covering a song, the song has bad words, you say them. No big deal. She was trying to do a clean version though to make it more internet friendly which I understand but using Jigga in it's place isn't much better. But whatever. No big deal.

Tim Minchin: Not Perfect

eric3579 says...

This is my Earth
And I live in it
It's one third dirt and two thirds water
And it rotates and revolves through space
At rather an impressive pace
And never even messes up my hair
And here's the really weird thing
The force created by it's spin
Is the force that stops the chaos flooding in

This is my Earth
And it's fine
It's where I spend the vast majority of my time
It's not perfect, but it's mine
It's not perfect

This is my country
And I live in it
It's pretty big and nice to walk on
And the bloke who runs my country
Has built a demagoguery
And tought us to be fearful and boring
And the wierdest thing is that he is
Conservative of politics
But really rather radical of eyebrow

This is my country
And it's fine
It's where I spend the vast majority of my time
It's not perfect, but it's mine
It's not perfect

This is my house
And I live in it
It's made of cracks and photographs
We rent it off a guy who bought it from a guy
Who bought it from a guy
Whose grandad left it to him
And the weirdest thing is that this house
Has locks to keep the baddies out
But they're mostly used to lock ourselves in

This is my house
And it's fine
It's where I spend the vast majority of my time
It's not perfect, but it's mine
It's not perfect

This is my body
And I live in it
It's thirtyone and six months old
It's changed a lot since it was new
It's done stuff it wasn't built to do
I often try to fill it up with wine
And the weirdest thing about it is
I spend so much time hating it
But it never says a bad word about me

This is my body
And it's fine
It's where I spend the vast majority of my time
It's not perfect, but it's mine
It's not perfect

This is my brain
And I live in it
It's made of love and bad song lyrics
It's tucked away behind my eyes
Where all my screwed up thoughts can hide
Cos God forbid I hurt somebody
And the weird thing about my mind
Is that every answer that I find
Is the basis of a brand new cliche

This is my brain
And it's fine
It's where I spend the vast majority of my time
It's not perfect, but it's mine
It's not perfect
I'm not quite sure I've worked out how to work it
It's not perfect
But it's mine

>> ^Skeeve:
Now for the next question:
Does 0.999... = 1.0?
This was a long time favorite topic of argument among Blizzard employees and on the World of Warcraft forums for whatever reason.
Neatorama had a neat article on it the other day too: http://www.neatorama.com/2010/03/05/9999999-is-equal-to-1-000000/

I'd have to assume that the argument was driven by mathematical illiterates. The proof is simple, taking only a few lines...we spent a whole three minutes on it when I was in the 7th or 8th grade.

Let's see if I can remember it off the top of my head.

Subtract 1 tenth of the value to get rid of the repeating decimal
Add 1 ninth of your new value and you get what you started with, which is 1.

.999... - (1/10) (.999...) = .999... - .0999... = .9
.9 * (10/9) = 1

Overall, that's badly worded, but I think it's fairly obvious when you think about it.
