Kung Fu Mantis Vs Jumping Spider
The BBC Natural History unit is one of Sir David Attenborough's finest achievements. They are head and shoulders above the rest of the world when it comes to wildlife film making. Amazingly talented people given the time and resources they need to do truly spectacular things.
This is so incredibly well made it blows my mind.. Its almost too perfect.. makes you think if theres CGI at work here
Erodium cicutarium, nature's own cordless drill
Needs more David Attenborough.
The Spider-Tailed Viper
He's not taking any work from Attenborough, that's for sure.
Does the stupid voice really add any value.

Ultra-Pure Water Tastes Like Nothing And Can Kill You
Once upon a time, National Geographic was serious, educational, and interesting. Now they find the need to be all "EXTREME" with people like this guy pandering to the audience, because clearly the general public is too stupid and has too short an attention span to actually listen to the stuff.
And yet, somehow we can tolerate David Attenborough's completely dry and boringly British delivery.
[EDIT]Oh, and remember the old theme song? Now THAT was a theme song!

This Little Spider Looks Completely Surprised!
(Sir Richard Attenborough voice:) "The Derpa-Derp spider uses her goofy, unassuming markings to soften her prey which are soon overcome with a sensation of overwhelming silliness. Hidden behind this derper-death mask are deadly fangs which spring-forth to subdue her chortling prey."

Chimp hugs Jane Goodall after being released into the wild
Jane Goodall is an amazing woman who deserves way more recognition for all she does. I always hear about David Attenborough, I'd like to hear more about Jane.
How Wolves Changed Yellowstone National Park
He's almost David Attenborough... almost.
Giraffe Copenhagen Zoo chief: 'I like animals'
Couldn't agree more.
In the past, there was some justification from an educational point of view where most people could never see these animals in the wild. These days we have David Attenborough (and if anyone argues that seeing wild animals in person in a zoo enclosure is better than seeing them in their natural environment on tv, I will pimp slap them).
I also accept that there are some species that are so endangered that zoos provide a useful breeding program, but ultimately the goal should be to do away with zoos altogether.
I dont understand the interviewer or people being wildly upset by this, do they really think the zookeepers, who feed and care for this giraffe are simply sadistic morons who kills a giraffe for fun or just because they can? Obviously there was a reason for this.
I am , however, in principal against zoos. they may be educational on some level, but I have a distaste for the concept of keeping wild animals imprisoned like this. But I do think that most zoos and zookeepers do their best under the circumstances to keep the animals happy as they can be. Most wild animals in the wild of course, live in perpetual fear and/or hunger, and so forth, but I am much more in favour of us spending money on preserving wilderness, and stop the perpetual destruction of their natural habitat, instead of keeping specimens in special "cages"/zoos.
If The Lion King Were Scientifically Accurate
Lol, I love when people put all these human concepts like love or nobility onto animals.
Animals are just as fallible as humans. They fight over females, and in many cases forcibly mount their "prize".
I remember watching an Attenborough documentary on walruses and how the females have to try to run past males in heat to get to the sea to get food for their cubs. A friend of mine watching it with me was horrified. "That's disgusting" she said. "Walruses are rapists!"
My youth pastor had this saying about how humans are the only creatures that aren't monogamous. I guess he didn't see the Lion King. Thanks for the life lesson, Simba!
