In the mid 70's, my grandfather would wake me up at 3am on full moon nights to go hunt nutria at the family ranch on lake Austin with .22s. I was walking back from the bathroom in my home at like 3am one night. It was pitch black. I kicked a small container of toothpicks that had been sitting on the floor and stumbled. One of the toothpicks flipped out of the container and landed straight up just as my foot, and full weight, came down right on top of it. I ended up with the wooden pick sticking straight out of the bottom of my bare foot. They were standard ~2 inch picks, and it was probably buried about 3/4ths the way in. It looked exactly like what this guy had, but it went straight into the tissue of my foot, rather than glancing along side.
My partner drove me to the emergency room right away, and to this day I still feel the elation at learning it hadn't splintered or snapped off in the foot, and they were able to extract it pretty much in the same way he did. I got bonus tetanus shots for being such a good patient.

Taping foreign diplomats is, unfortunately, the norm these days (and for decades or longer), and anyone with 1/4 of a brain would know (keeping in mind that Carnivore came to light decades ago, and Snowden clued us in to far worse surveillance of ordinary people daily) that calls to and from Russian diplomats would be recorded, and the fact that he was 1. surprised his team's conversations with numerous Russian agents were recorded, 2. didn't understand that when you call someone who's obviously going to be under surveillance you will also be recorded, so you shouldn't lie about it, and 3. jumped directly to making a specific unsupported and outrageous accusation directly against Obama that could not be true as he described it shows, at best, a criminal level of naivete and a tenuous grasp on reality or, more likely, a sociopathic penchant for lying to distract from his self serving illicit actions. (Wow, nice run on sentence, huh?)

I won't address the sad state of news, but it is impossible to deal in fact without contradicting Trump's daily 3am rants complaining about things he clearly doesn't understand, so "anti-Trump" is really pro-fact, something even faux can't completely ignore, try as they might.

Too bad none of our broadcasters is mentioning it, even at 3am. It seems fairly important. It's likely the owners of our media are also involved, so wish to keep it as quiet as possible.

How do you propose they stop masses of people, the vast majority of which are clearly economic, social or political refugees from crossing? Build a fence like Trump says?

I would have thought living in the US with experience of Mexican undocumented migrants you'd have figured out that never works.

The reality is Europe, moreso than the US (because Mexico is relatively far more stable than the Middle East) will end up with refugees whether they like it or not.

The only question is whether you (1) manage than transition and benefit from the surge of young workers by training them to supplement the declining workforce and support the pensions of the bulging aged population to come or (2) some kind of loony comes to power and decides to stage endless raids for illegals turning Europe into some kind of authoritarian police state where every night you wonder if someone will mis-report you for harboring illegals and you'll be in store for a 3am SWAT raid.

If your answer to that is "no they're illegal", "I ain't paying for no training or educashionnnnn" then you sir, are unable to face reality and make the best choice of an imperfect situation.

You just have to remember Lantern that there are two unwritten rules when it comes to Videosift commentary.

1. Never, in any way, show support for the police.
2. Never show support or defend religion.

If you do either of those things, you will be shat upon as if it was a downpour and you neglected to bring an umbrella. I admit, I will be one of the first to rip into someone over either if they don't have a logical argument; such as people defending Islam. But I am also aware that there are good cops and good religious people out there, they are just rarely videotaped because it lacks sensationalism.

Now I don't have all the information on this video, but I have been stopped in a similar situation many years ago for driving late at night in an expensive sports car. Why, you ask, incredulously? The cop was nice enough in my case to explain that the area I was leaving, having just come from a friend's house where we were playing xbox, was a known manufacturing area for meth. He asked why I was out so late, I told him. He asked if I had any drugs or dead bodies in the car in a joking fashion, I told him that he could clearly see everything in the car but the spare tire so I didn't. He told me the above thing about why he stopped me and let me go. Well, he also gave me a warning for not using a turn signal at a stop sign, but who really uses their turn signals all the time at 3am in the morning?

The beta was semi-meh... semi-good, which is a real concern.

EDIT: The lack of evaluation is likely due to the fact they aren't turning servers on until 3AM EST (which is midnight PST), and since the game can't be plaid without servers... I mean I guess they could put a server up for the press, but they probably fear being able to control others from logging on that picked up early. And while online only, it's not really a full MMO, given the limited number of people per area...
