If you don't want to watch the entire hitler-subtitle meme above (which was also funny), it was because BGP stands for Border Gateway Protocol, and the Sky News presenter got it wrong (with confidence).
"bridging gap protocol" isn't a thing, so no idea where they got it - maybe some geeks at Sky corp pranked him.
