It definitely belongs in the brain channel. Videos don't necessarily have to describe specific neural mechanisms. It does kind of fall in the grey area, but there's plenty enough implication on the nature of minds and brains there to justify its inclusion.

I'm afraid, it merely illustrates the ability and doesn't explain the biological nature of the learning, but I'll let you be the judge. As a warning the audio can be kind of loud for the voice-overs so you may want to keep an eye on the volume.

Given the brief description, it sounds like a good candidate. I've bookmarked it and I'll try to watch it this weekend.
There is basically only one criterion for inclusion in the channel. Does the video explain the mental behavior demonstrated in the clip, as opposed to simply describing it. In other words, the video has to provide some insight into the underlying mechanisms, which can range anywhere from molecular biology to cognitive psychology and even into philosophy. There's a few in the channel that are in a bit of a grey area - either implying the mechanism, or being more philosophical in nature.

hey, just added a clip of a chimp learning English and Hebrew to your Brain channel. hope it fits your criteria, if not no worries. sounds like it'll be a great channel.
Congratulations! Your comment has just received enough votes from the community to earn you 1 Power Point. Thank you for your quality contribution to VideoSift.

I just sent an e-mail to a friend with links to Andrew Bird performances on youtube that I like, in case you hadn't seen some of them:
"
Here's a song that's much better live than on the record, performed at the Fillmore with a fun audience... fun lyrics, and lyrical presentation:

Here he is again on the violin, and also playing guitar and glockenspiel, with a band backing him up:

Here's a slower song from a CD coming out Jan. 20th called Noble Beast (that album title is a David Attenborough reference):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYwUVSUd3Ko
Here's a strange one of him walking around Paris singing and playing for a popular French music blog:

Here's a song I really like,... he supposedly got the lyrics from a letter he found on the ground (he said the letter started 'Dear Dirty,' and then when on to describe in a simple caveman dialect what it was like being a caveman):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKnjsRvsyGQ
Finally, here he is first playing a song he wrote for a children's show he appeared on, then rolling into an intense performance of a pretty wild song:

Hello, you recently voted for a video of mine (Sarah Palin offers Bristol to Babysit for Tina Fey) which ended up being a dupe of the unsifted video: http://www.videosift.com/video/Tina-Fey-on-Conan-OBrien-1028-12
