...which is one of the few reasons why Superman, even with suspension of disbelief, is one of the more absurd characters in comics. It's a case of feature creep that's gotten completely out of hand.

He might be more relevant had they kept him merely "really strong"

Superman's origin story is the only thing that is fascinating, IMO
