We Got Stronger Beer

"STRONGER BEER" - TIM HICKS
Grimmsays...

The reason it takes you 6 and us 9 is because you're a bunch of lightweights...not because you've got stronger beer.

In Canada, the average “normal” beer has just a slightly higher alcohol content than American beer, with a range of 4.0% to 6.1% alcohol by volume (ABV) as compared to America’s 4.1% to 5.9% ABV.

Wait, what?? That's not true across the board. Their "budweiser" may have more Acohol by content, but those types of comparisons disappear when it comes to our micro-beer market, such as Red Hook, IPAs, etc...

It's probably the most myopic comparison you can make. They have "professional" football is like saying we both have "professional" exotic dancers. It means nothing. We have the NFL. Our worst players go to the CFL.

So... huh?

Maybe we do have a "stronger" tolerance...but the evidence shows that Canadian beer being "stronger" is a myth.

Canadian beer companies use ABV (Alcohol by Volume) and American companies USED to use ABW (Alcohol by Weight). So people would see a Canadian Beer that is 5% ABV and compare it to an American Beer that was 4% ABW and wrongly conclude that one was stronger than the other...when they were actually equal.

Or maybe you have a higher tolerance cuz you're a bunch of drunks.
