Truck tries to overtake the train - emphasis on 'tries'

One word: 'IDIOT!!! What were you thinking! Idiot!' OK, that's 6 words, but still: 'IDIOT!'

The bar on the truck's side looks like it came down after the other side. It looks almost like he started to go around the corner, saw the other gate, and stopped to back up. By that time, the gate had dropped behind the carriage over the truck bed. His options were to backup and break the gate, or go forward. Must have thought he could make it.

Of course, if there were lights flashing before the gate started to drop (as they all do around here), then yeah.. an idiot.

Nice catch frijoles. At first I couldn't imagine how someone could be so monumentally stupid. But I guess the signal kind of snuck up on him and he didn't want to break the gate.

I guess he should have just backed up and broken the gate.
Failing that, he could have just stayed where he was.
Failing that, he could have driven across VERY quickly.

But going by the time code, the train crossed the intersection (and hit the truck) 12 seconds after the second gate was down. That seems kind of short.

I don't believe this is as simple as it looks. I thought the driver is just being impatient at first, but I think he was scared for his life.

There are two sets of tracks. He was parked on the furthest and probably couldn't tell what track the train was on. I bet he thought the train was headed straight for his cab. He should have backed up and broken the gate.

yeah 12 seconds wtf, that's retarded. is this video running at triple speed or something? then i could understand.

Seems to be normal speed, the time code is in the video itself and seems like it may be from the security camera.
