Trouble Peeing? Try Roto-Rooter!

A brief explanation of the TURP procedure (TransUrethral Resection of the Prostate)

Something a not-insignificant percentage of male sifters will have to endure sometime in their lives...

This procedure is performed when a patient has developed "Bladder Outlet Obstructive (BOO) symptoms - frequency, urgency, straining to void urine, nighttime voiding, incomplete emptying, all the way up to inability to urinate necessitating the placement of an indwelling urethral catheter (a drainage tube).

These problems are usually caused by a benign growth within the prostate (called Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia or BPH) that compresses the urethra leading to the above symptoms.

The surgery amounts to essentially coring out the gland, removing the obstruction and thus relieving the patient's complaints.

Having had crotch surgery, people shouldnt be so terrified or squeamish about these things. Its far better to be able to have these things corrected than have to live with them like our grandparents probably would have.

Upvote for astounding advances in medical science!

WAT DA FACK!!!

YOUR BODY IS NOT A FUKKIN LAWN YOU COULD LANDSCAPE!!!

OMG, That's modern surgery with 2009 technology? Inserting a tube through your dick and scrape off the blockage?

Now I see why the Chinese have never really went with hands-on surgery even though they had the technology and few iconic individuals preaching this skill.

Too direct and brutal it seems, with much higher fatality rate back then. That's why they resorted to acupuncture, moxibustion and medicine instead of this.

Don't know why westerners never got into medicine up until the modern age. Since the roman times it was always about cutting and stitching as you would with a piece of cloth.
