I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but to my (not inexperienced) ears there was no subtlety nor artistry to any of the sound design in this movie. It was nothing but a constant overwhelming assault, overly compressed and turned up to 11.

Agreed therealblankman, regardless of the amaaaazing ingenuity, the film was a full-on irritating aural assault....I am speaking of the entire script, especially the exchanges between the hero and heroine.Lame.

I appreciate the fact they avoided such overused crap like the "howling wind" sample that I have heard in dozens of movies but at the same time it was indeed the equivalent of someone just railing on a drumset randomly for most of the movie.
