Actually that is quite common.
I've been reading up on usability (more specifically web-related.) One of the authors runs his own company for this and use eye-tracking software as they run user through usability testing. You end up with "heat patterns" showing how the person's eyes move around the page. Your lingering (perhaps wistful?) look's commonality was among one of the more surprising finds.
Just playing about the wistful.
