Curb is by far the funniest comedy on tv at the moment. I feel sorry for all the fans of boil-in-the-bag, insert-joke-here comedy fans that can't understand it. I'm sure another rerun of friends will be on a channel soon.

Translation: My country/religion/highschool football team/political party/taste in entertainment is better than yours! Behold my opinion, which I present as fact! I pity those who do not agree with be because they are inferior! RAWWWRRRRRR!

I hated Curb at first. I really found it hard to watch, especially since I'm a huge fan of Seinfeld, particularly Jason Alexander's character.

But I must admit that having forced myself to watch more than a few episodes I'm afraid I'd have to agree with Danny. All but the first sentence anyway. It's not the best show, it's no Seinfeld but it's up there.

You're a little later than I expected, but congratulations on winning today's CYE Trite Apologist Award! Your entry had the complete winning combo of standard phrases!

Sigh, I don't suppose reading this article will change anything, but here goes...
An excerpt: "...CYE is an in-joke that no-one else is invited to. Its television for those who want others to know how good a taste they have, an exercise in painfully self-aware good ‘taste’. And the last thing that Larry David needs is people telling him how clever he really is."

It was funny at first, and the bit with Jerry's reaction was amazing, but after that it just got old and the part with the doctor was stupid - who the hell would say something like that?

Knowledge of the series would probably give you the answer; Larry David behaves in a way he feels is consistent and reasonable - so if this woman says something that sounds outrageous but makes no big deal of it then he's liable to say "yeah, there's nothing wrong with that".

I did like this clip alot. The show has had it's ups and downs. A friend who is a confirmed Curb fan says it has had some bad series (2 and 3 were very good) and the latest stuff with Michael Richards has been excellent.

Sometimes it seemed a bit too shouty at times for me but like Seinfeld it does have funny or at least interesting situations. When it becomes too contrived it starts to pass back into conventional sitcom land but I would recommend watching an entire season before passing judgement too readily. Just avoid the bad series...
