Patriot Guard protects against Westboro Freaks

Very cool, bikers block protesters from infiltrating the funerals of fallen soldiers! Funny how a group of people committing hateful acts can bring the rest of us together!

Again, enough already. Giving the freaks an audience-Why not simply pay the man at the State Fair midway, and see alll the freaks!
"Funny how a group of people committing hateful acts can bring the rest of us together!"

Funny how instead of dealing with our own dysfunction, we gravitate towards others', and point, gawk, deride, and condemn.

Had some zealots set up across the street opposite my building while living in San Francisco-Market street: Saturday morning @ 8am....because the city said they could....They started in to playing instruments poorly and loudly, preaching through a crappy P.A., and otherwise fucking up a peaceful a.m. coffee session.
Did choggie call attention to them??? No. He marched up to the roof with determination and water balloons, and soon the bible thumping amateurs, packed up and left.....They were not preaching the dangers of homosexuality as it relates to the afterlife, they were fucking with an otherwise chill morning in San Fran.i.e. bothering choggie!!
Did he point out their errors, or attempt to incite a mob to agree that they were dicks??? No. Nuked em' quite well with death from above.
Point being, these viddies that divert attention by turning a camera on throwbacks, so the civil world at large can gawk....are tiresome and fucking offensive!!
Fuck westboro, could care less they hate fags!

I almost didn't know which way to vote. But regardless, its simply rude to intrude on a funeral and I am glad someone showed up to help protect the family during their time of loss.

Its funny how a few years back when the same insane cult was protesting the deaths of aids victims there was nary a peep of surprise or condemnation to be heard. yet now when the target is dead soldiers its aaaallll about the constant media coverage and who can wave the biggest red white and blue painted dick around in (albeit justified) indignation.

If you'll notice chog, the patriot guard is not engaging the freaks, nor pointing at them, or even really counter protesting them or inciting others to do so... they are creating a human shield between them and the grieving family. Frankly, I think this is the best way to deal with these people, just turn our backs on them and ignore their stupidity...

although I gotta admit, water balloons would be my first instinct

I'm agnostic, not much of a patriot, opposed to the occupation of Iraq, and generally believe that the Phelps family should be ignored rather than counter-protested. But damn if this didn't choke me up just a bit. This is an example of our Constitution working as it should: an unpopular opinion is voiced without being silenced by the government, and a group of private citizens bands together to voice their refusal to stand for it. Lovely.

So let's see, one group claims God told them to protest homosexuals, and the other group claims God told them to protest protesters. And both Believe they're right because, you know, God said so.
