How Battlestar Galactica Can Totally Ruin your Life

We got time for just one more episode right?

It's good sci-fi. Follows a serialized format with a story arch lasting the season. The allegories are really good (Iraq war, Terrorism) which I think was season 3.. and of course everyones favourite Cylon who you want to frak (sorry, nerdy BG joke).

The problem with the show for me, is that they didn't know where they were going with the stories. Running into the same problem that 'Lost' did with many loose threads, making season 4 (the final series) the worst by far, ending with an un satisfying conclusion. There were also some heavy religious beats throughout the series which I didn't care for.

But the video is accurate, at the end of every episode "Awww you can't leave my hanging on that, let's watch the next one".>> ^zombieater:

So is it good?

Hilarious,

I agree, the religious stuff was very well done until the last season where they just defaulted to vague, supernatural explanations the plot hadn't quite earned. Good news is it pretty much works until the last couple of episodes, and then its only a minor glitch in an otherwise satisfying conclusion.

end nerd commentary.

I really want to watch the series sometime. My problem is with the word Frak. What the Fuck is with that word? You wanna say Fuck without getting Bleeped? Get Bleeped! I just don't like it...Fuck is a great word...FUCK FUCK FUCK.

Oh i know that effect all to well. Happened to me with Breaking Bad, Dexter (well, not series 05 and 06), Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy and The Wire. I spent whole days and nights in front of the TV for those. But BG? Meh. :-)

I was happy with the whole thing. The last episode had too much riding on it, too many varying expectations and wishes as to where it was going to go. I think the relationships are the heart of the thing. Between Adama and Lee, Roslin, Tigh & Starbuck, Tigh & Ellen etc, that's where it rose above the standard sci-do fizz boom zap.
