dotdudesays...With Greenaway, that often means nude bodies.
budzossays...Traditional cinema is not dead by any means. People will cherish the passive tell-me-a-story type of film for a long time to come. Go make a lame DJ interactive bullshit multimedia thing if you must. No matter how great my home theatre gets, there will still be movies that I simply must see as soon as they are released. Plus the local theatre they just built has all digital screens and a bunch of VIP adult-only auditoriums with huge leather seats. So long as films maintain a release window where they are exclusively available in theatres, the movie business as we know it will never really die.
Sarzysays...I couldn't watch this past the one minute mark without getting frustrated. I've never heard so many stupid things come out of one person's mouth in such a short amount of time.
fissionchipssays...Multimedia? Interactive? Virtual? Is this clip from 1993?
dystopianfuturetodaysays...Banal hack. Just wait until they tell grandpa about the internets.
rossprudensays...TV didn't kill radio... TV redefined radio's function. So Greenaway makes some good points, but he leans towards hyperbole. As only Greeenaway can.
Also, this is *nsfw because he uses 1 naughty word. (Sorry!)
siftbotsays...Invocations (nsfw) cannot be called by rosspruden because rosspruden is not privileged - sorry.
spoco2says...Dear god... I couldn't watch all of this as well... Cinema is not dead at all, he's missing the point of cinema... people will enjoy traditional films for many years to come.
siftbotsays...Moving this video to Eklek's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 3 days.
neteansays...if "cinema" means have to sit through any more Peter Greenaway films... hell let it die and give me more Jaws 4 (the second worst film I ever paid to see!)
I paid to watch "The Baby of Macon" 2 hours of my life I'll never get back! (and the worst film I paid to see!)
