Not much but a small peek into the isolation room of a healing patient. Working in an ICU myself, and having my unit be designated as the place in my hospital where the patients will be cared for, this hits a remarkably real nerve for me and many others.
My advice to everyone is educate yourselves. Know the symptoms. Know which hospital in your area will take these types of patients. Will a full outbreak occur? I'd lean toward no, but will more cases be popping up? Good chance. The nurse and the hospital of that first patient were not prepared in the slightest and I feel bad for them and angry at their administration for how it was handled in regard to staff safety. My hospital as well as many around the country are preparing extensively, working in conjunction with clinical advisers on how to best maintain patient and staff safety. I wish for no more cases to pop up anywhere, but I know we are more prepared and getting better each day.

newtboysays...I got the distinct impression that this 'administrator' didn't enter a quarantine ward just to say 'thank you' on tape. Instead I think he was preparing the Dallas hospital's defense by saying clearly to her on tape "Thank you for being part of the VOLUNTEER team to take care of our first patient." and making sure he caught her saying "yeah" (indicating she was a VOLUNTEER, and so the hospital has no responsibility so they can't be sued). I really HOPE I'm wrong about that, but the cynic in me thinks this was all about covering the Dallas hospital's ass.

lucky760says...Really brings the story to terra firma, seeing the reality of NIna Pham as a human being sitting in a hospital bed instead of just a name heard repeated over and over and over, occasionally accompanied by her Instagram selfie with her dog.
She's an actual human being, not just the poster girl for the plague.

lucky760says...Now that you mention it, it would make sense you're totally right. It doesn't at all seem natural or necessary to speak the way he did, mentioning that she "volunteered" as opposed to just generally saying she helped.

lucky760says...Unclear to me why this post's title is that she "speaks out to the public" when she isn't really speaking and especially not out to the public.
Stusays...It was the generic title being used for it across the web. Easy to search for.
blackorebsays...From what I've read, the video was recorded by Dr. Gary Weinstein. He was one of Nina Pham's treating physicians and worked with all three of the Ebola patients at Texas Health Presbyterian. He is not an 'administrator' at the hospital. According to the YouTube description for the video Ms. Pham asked Dr. Weinstein to share the video with the public.

siftbotsays...Moving this video to Stu's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
