When did an "acre" become a unit of length?

On a related note - an interesting article from Slate written by a University of Kentucky professor who teaches biology (and evolution) to non-biology majors:

It is weird that they just skipped over the part where they soaked the whole thing in epoxy to give it the strength it needed to work.

It is also weird to here packaging folk referring to that material as "cardboard" rather than "corrugated" or "corrugated fiberboard". In industry circles, "cardboard" is solid, not a multi-layered material with corrugations.

The clip from 0:34 to 0:44 uses video of the plane striking the World Trade Center on 9/11 and that was painful for me to watch. Some of you may want to skip that bit. I found the rest of the video quite funny.

This happened in April 2013. In 2014 there was a deal on the table the required Mr. Beatty to plead guilty to lesser charges. He refused. Early in 2015 a judge ruled that the arrest was unconstitutional and all charges were dropped.

The YT description may be inaccurate. According to what Theophile Gouzin says in the video, this car is operating with a battery that has 25% of the capacity of the final one. The final car will go farther, but not necessarily faster.

The driver in the crosswalk may have made an honest mistake and misjudged the light. The driver behind the car in the crosswalk could have left room for the car in front to back up. Again, it could have been an honest mistake, but collectively they still inconvenienced or endangered at least a few pedestrians. I'm in the punishment-fits-the-crime camp.

From what I've read, the video was recorded by Dr. Gary Weinstein. He was one of Nina Pham's treating physicians and worked with all three of the Ebola patients at Texas Health Presbyterian. He is not an 'administrator' at the hospital. According to the YouTube description for the video Ms. Pham asked Dr. Weinstein to share the video with the public.

I deeply hate the person moving around behind the camera (not really), but I really like the music (really).

Her shooting position appears to be typical for a competitive shooter firing from the standing position.
