Dads lie. Dads always lie.

Good grief. This commercial was so amazingly exploitative.
Lots of feels.

As a side light; if you ever wondered why AIG, as an insurance company, ever had any good reputation at all---part of it is because they operated in pre-war Shanghai---and when the war came, and then after that, the Communists, they apparently, and quite compulsively, made sure that their Chinese records survived both rather titanic upheavals---so insureds were able to re-establish their lives amid the chaos of war and civil war.

Thus, the idea of an insurance policy; and being able to bear any burden for your children---would resonate in the Pacific Rim...especially among the overseas, English speaking Chinese diaspora...

And there are a lot of parents who would bear enormous burdens for their children...and in Confucian culture, children who would then bear burdens for their parents. Of course, in modern, post-revolutionary China---I dunno anymore.

This was better than the "Make Safe Happen" super bowl commercial that was basically saying that if you love your children you will buy insurance from Nationwide. That commercial showed a kid who died because of an unsafe situation. Not sure exactly what insurance would have done to help there.

This one was much better. If you love your kids you should purchase insurance to guarantee stability for their upbringing.

I think a lot of people are under insured. And when there's a stay at home parent, I think people forget to insure that parent too (who's gonna take care of the kids if the stay at home parent dies?).

Term insurance to cover the risk window...from when they are little to when they would be old enough to manage daily activities of living on their own...

Term insurance pays out about 4% of their policies. Of course, that's why term is so cheap.

Most people don't understand insurance. Saw on another board some dope who thought insurance companies would want risk increased. That makes no sense at all. The reason we all have to wear seat belts is because of insurance companies.
