Computer Animation in the 1970s

An oddly drab and downbeat film from the 70s extolling the nascent field of computer animation. It has a curiously melancholy Cold-War "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" feel to it. On viewing this video, an animator friend of mine remarked: "Goes to show it was only a little bit easier than it is now."

The music (which I rather like) was composed on the same computer system.
