Very slick, but I think I figured it out.

I think there is a third person squished in the post holding up the clear box. When the cloth goes up, the third person sticks their arm up and hand out the hole. As soon as that hand grabs the second cloth, the girl slips out of the bottom-right of the box, they do the switch, and the guy climbs quickly up into the box. Then you can see when the cloth is torn away, the hand switches from a left hand to the illusionist's right hand.

Only was able to figure it out from multiple viewings, and they were very good, so they lose no points from me. Definite upvote.

hmm, you could do it with 2 people. what looks like the hands holding the pole at the top of the cloth could be fake. Then you only need 2 people.

Weird that the guys from the side couldn't see the cheats either.

He was probably lying. A large percentage of magic tricks only work from the audience point of view. So people off to the side have to be part of the show, sworn to secrecy. Or it could be that he was more referring to the fact of how fast and coordinated they were, making it too hard to follow the first time. But I think it's more likely he was just doing his part to enhance the show.

You can see that they are switching hands as the cloth gets removed from the assistant. First the thumb is on the one side, a second later it's on the other side and if course, it switches from a girlish looking hand to a more manly one.
