Unbelievable footage shot at 10 000 fps of the full operation INSIDE a 4-stroke gasoline engine.

If I had to guess I wouldn't say this is 10000 frames per second, but rather the same as the water drop strobe light thingy, if you take a picture every 1/10th sec at an engine running at 1000 rpm (or 60,000 rev/s) you could combine pictures to make an animation because the combustion is relatively repetitive enough combine frames from later.

Good call, joedirt. I was wondering why it might be so jittery, that would probably explain it.

Also, it's just the same clip repeated four times, hence no exhaust stroke.

But very cool! I hope whatever technology allowed them to do this will spread and we get to see more of these!
