When I saw Google had somehow forgotten to include any ads in their Project Glass promotional video I just couldn't resist fixing that oversight for them. So here is my slightly more realistic version of Google's augmented reality glasses - now featuring contextual Google Ads!Of course I'm exaggerating here for visual effect to mimic the modern web browsing experience. Google will probably not be this obvious with their interface but there's no question the company will be gathering massive amounts of extremely personal data to build detailed profiles and sell super targeted ads. Because let's face it, Google really is just a massive advertising company at heart.Fun Fact: All of the AdWords used are actual Google ad returns found via Google searches based on the dialog, situation or setting in the original video. Yes "Music, Stop!" does actually return an ad asking if you would like to listen to music. The irony of this being on YouTube. Strangely - no ads came up for me when playing the video. Manual override perhaps.

Back when the "Google Phone" was just a rumor that's what everyone said, too, yet Android has been on the market for 3.5 years now and it's nothing like this. Glass is nothing but a fancy Android phone. It's an invaluable data-mining platform. They wouldn't jeopardize that by making it look like Videosift. (zing!)

Yes, that's obvious and not being disputed. What's unfounded is the idea that they are going to flood your view with constant ads. Everyone said the Google Phone would require you to listen to ads before you made calls and that text messages would be sponsored. Both claims are clearly false. Maybe they will become true at some point in the future but, until there's evidence of it, people just look foolish repeating those claims.
