Amazing. Simply amazing. It's obviously technically demanding, but he shows great musicality in his treatment of the piece as well. I wonder how many hours a day he practices and who his teacher his and who transcribed the piece for his instrument. That's not something you just plop down and start reading the score/violin part.

So sad. It just disgusts me that there are people who do this to animals out there. Especially in the town where I live too. I'm not letting my kitties out of the house, that's for sure!

Yeah, weird choice in music. It is interlude from cavalleria rusticana by Mascagni, actually a very beautiful piece from his one act opera.

And they're playing Philip Glass to boot. Can't remember exactly which piece at the moment though. . .

Anybody know whose music is playing in the background? It somewhat reminds me of Arvo Pärt, but I don't think it's really his style.

Great stuff. That is Hisaishi conducting his piece, and the theme and variations is, I think, almost all from the Miyazaki film Castle in the Sky.

I have to chime in here and agree that this is a beautiful melding of math and music. The music, to me, really seems to add to the beauty of the math. And for anyone interested, the piece being played is by Robert Schumann and is the first piece in his work titled "Kinderszenen" (translates to Scenes from Childhood). The video mentions the music comes from musopen.com, but didn't list the piece used. Does anyone else notice that the imagery and especially the sounds seems to be very similar to the forest chase scene in Star Wars Return of the Jedi?
