Yeah, mercury is not too bad. Dimethylmercury, on the other hand, is so incredibly poisonous that it's slowly and horribly fatal if you get just a few drops of it on your fucking latex gloves. Poor Karen Wetterhan.

Mercury vapor from dental fillings

your reference of the periodic table was not specific enough for me to deduce what you meant. But your post in another thread I read tonight explained what you were getting at. That seems valid enough to me and I've emailed the researcher posing the same question so as to understand.

my suggestion of perusing the studies was to examine how they could have come to the conclusion that the vapor was indeed mercury vapor (I should have been more specific). I made no mention of your comparison to jwrays Norway, Sweden comparison.
Thanks for the avatar compliment even if it was meant as a backhanded compliment. (most don't see the word FUNDAMENTALISM written at the bottom.)

eh, sorry, I'm a little touchy. we've had some pretty heated discussions on VS about mercury and its related adverse health implications, which some doubt (depending on the intake).

Just ribbing you man. You didn't find it funny?

Your fact-filled paragraph as BOOOOOORING and your assertion that it was "interesting facts" as a lie? Not funny?

I'll edit it if you prefer.

Will a cannonball float in mercury?

Since we are talking about Mercury... here's some interesting facts...

Gold mines are the nation's largest source of mercury pollution. Like all mining, separating and processing the gold creates tons of toxic metals, like lead and mercury. Nevada is home to eight of the nation's top 10 mercury polluters. Here is a list of the top 100 Some other sources: Coal Fired Power Plants, Cement Kilns, Incinerators, Chlor-alkali Production, Chemical Plants.

In 2005 the FDA did a study that showed mercury in many food products that contained High Fructose Corn Syrup (due to mercury in the caustic soda and hydrochloric acid used in the manufacture of HFCS), and the FDA did absolutely nothing about it

^if you're doubtful, there are plenty of studies published in peer reviewed journals (links listed above) for you to read in addition to the lawsuit the FDA lost on the matter.

The Rachel Maddow Show: Apocalypse Now?

qruel says...

Ha, "people are looking for answers because the world is in a state of change."
WOW, that's a first, I had no clue the world was changing !

and as far as Ms.. Maddow's comment: "none of us have the right to judge anybody elses religious beliefs"
my retort: BULLSHIT lady. when those crazy ass fundies are try to dictate U.S. policy and influence laws based upon what they read in their bibles then people need to challenge those beliefs and judge that religion based upon the merits of reason.
