South African Condom Ad #2

farhad:

that's really odd since, according to the book 'the great train robbery', in victorian times, when 'the french malady' was running rampant through england, the same belief about sex with a virgin curing syphilis was held then. according to the novel, young and youngish looking prostitutes would stitch themselves back up down there so as to be able to provide this valued service many times. not sure how true it was, it is a novel after all and a michael crichton novel at that, but that struck me as an odd coincidence when i read what you wrote.

i have an english friend who i used to torture by running around singing 'fanny shag fanny shag ooohhhh fanny fanny shag' to her, since both of those words are much more vulgar in the uk then they are here. i also made her blush once by saying that, in america and more specifically in the south, the phrase 'i'm gonna wear your little fanny out' is sometimes said by parents who are threatening to spank their children.

also, apparently antsy = horny in the uk. found that out from her accidentally.

In the first clip, the guy had to run through the band because it was the last play, no one thought the team had a chance of scoring and winning the game so the opposing team's band was taking the field in celebration of the assumed victory.

Dark City Movie Trailer

mjasonprickett says...

I referenced this movie recently in my discarded "Strange Days" post. But, to reiterate, much like "Strange Days" I feel this movie is one of the great overlooked sci-fi films of the past 20 years or so. For those who have not seen it, go over to YouTube and watch it. It is something like a deeper, darker, more cerebral, grown up version of the Matrix.

I was, after referencing the movie in that above post, going to post a clip of the opening seven minutes of the film in an attempt to get others to watch it, but never got around to it.
