Robert Wright on his book "The Evolution of God"

the problem with his suggestion of a 'purpose' is that the anthropic principle explains how we would likely find ourselves in such a place. you couldn't wake up in the multiverse unless a series of events took place like they have. it has the appearance of directionality only because of where we're standing, just like natural selection can have that appearance and yet we know it isn't being directed, we know the basic processes.
he's quite an appeaser, i respect him for trying to keep the peace, and more should do so - but then yknow being a straight out philosophical agnostic just shows you haven't thought about it rigorously enough. a godmind from nothing? hm logical, not...

Also it's got to be BS about reading two lines at once (except for kim peek), it would just be a muddle of words.

The Big Bang Explained in Two Minutes

johnald128 says...

some leading physicists have been saying that things become fuzzy early on,
in a quantumly weird kinda way. such that you could expect that the idea of what happened at the big bang would begin to break down, and there's an alternate answer to all of this, that it was just mathematical probabilities, this is just one lineage of them.
