All of our guns won't do us any good if our own government decides to shut off the power and stop the food trucks from running. And, yeah, some people can live off the land, but most of the population lives in urban and suburban areas. It's far more likely that people will turn their guns on each other rather than the government. All the gov't would have to do is wait until the smoke clears, then pick up the guns from the ashes.

While I was volunteering with the campaign, I not-so-jokingly suggested to my coworkers that Obama should do a daily webcast from the Oval Office to keep people up to date. Looks like I wasn't so far off.

The Obama campaign should edit this down to 50 seconds with the lead in, "John McCain said he would pick the most qualified person to be his Vice-Presidential running mate. Do you think he made the right choice?"

If risking your life by joining the military is patriotic, why isn't it patriotic to risk just your money by paying higher taxes? After all, you can't get your life back, but you can get your money back via investment in infrastructure, better health care, healthier food and drugs, etc., etc., etc. The rich just want more and more and more and they want other people to pay for it.

I wonder how many kids who got this shit later got killed in Vietnam? I've read that something like 70% of the casualties in Vietnam were volunteers. So how many kids got all "Gung-ho" to join the Marines or Army in the early 60s after being fed this stuff during the 50s? I'm just sayin'. . .

I believe the reasoning works like this:

If I am "right with God," then anything I want is in accordance with His Will.
I want a gas pipeline.
Therefore, it is God's Will to have it built.
